Ikaria?

Listen, no need to get defensive & paranoid. This company is nothing to get excited about. Again, these no-name companies, i.e., Ikaria, are just a refugee camp for loser managers from other companies. The problem with this ENTIRE industry is that they are run by loser managers still on board with their current employer, hiding/sucking upper mgmt butt to save their jobs or hauling off their old, crappy baggage to other pharma companies where they repeat the same drek there. All those looking for employment find out as much as you can about the hiring manager. Like attracts like.

Who's defensive and paranoid?

You clearly have all the answers since you know that every manager with every "no-name" company is a refugee. You do this without providing examples. I'm not expecting names, but initials and employer would be helpful.

Otherwise your broad baseless generalization is just that. Baseless.

yes i have worked with them in the past. and no i did not interview with them. anybody who has worked with them in the past would not think to interview with them. this is a bad opportunity.

So let's recap. You don't want to interview because Ikaria is a bad opportunity. There's no chance of you ever working for this company.

But, because you're a good guy/gal, you're willing to share your experience with the whole world.

I don't buy it.

Uh oh, you've fallen for their sales pitch. I hope you come to your senses before it's too late. Well, unless you are unemployed and need something while you look for a real opportunity.

I didn't fall for any sales pitch.

I'm just very skeptical of your baseless statements.

What do you stand to gain for posting negative things about senior management of a company for which you've never worked...or have no interest in working?

My point is that your actions make no sense.

The list you want me to provide is endless. There's not enough space on this board to name, either by initials or companies. Just keep your eyes & ears open when interviewing with these losers, and then you will understand what we're talking about.

...don't mean to interpret the love spat, but I have worked for GSK, and management is "horrible," micro managers that manage by intimidation - old school all the way. If Ikaria's upper management does actually come for GSK I have to agree to stay away from this company - unless you absolutely have to.

So every senior manager who has worked for GSK at some point in their career is a horrible micromanager.

A VP of sales for a former start-up I worked for was a VP of Sales for Glaxo in the mid and late 90's. We didn't even have call reporting. So that makes her a horrible micromanager, too?

Do you currently work for Ikaria? Or again, you're trashing the management as a civil service?

hey, whether you take advice or not, it does not matter to me. I got a call from this company...did some research on the products and upper management. What I came up with was that it was not a good opportunity. baseless? not at all. The product is not a breakthrough. The upper mgt., ie the CEO and VP of Comm Ops are both ex GSK guys. I know both of them and worked with them both. The CEO is an ex Director of PC Sales from GSK. His leadership was horrible. He left GSK under very questionable circumstances, which are not fair to post on a message board. Not sure if the reasons he left were true, but where there is smoke, there is fire. Look up the guys name under GSK or Baxter, his previous company.
I don't stand to gain anything from posting this. I simply read the post and added my two cents. Take it for what it is. I am just one person posting an opinion. If you don't like it, don't take the advice.

You decide to chime in on discussions regarding a company for which you have no interest in working?

Personally, I find that strange.

I've been monitoring the Ikaria threads because I may possibly work for the company someday, possibly soon.

But I seriously have much better things to do with my time than post on threads regarding opportunities that have no interest to me.

Ikaria is doubling the size of their sales force by adding 20 new reps.

Offers have gone out and the start date is March 2nd.

Good salary, bonus is 50K at plan and a free SUV to drive.

their bases are only 85-95 max regardless of experience...they can get pharma reps with 3 yrs exp with that offer. I guess that's what they want- cheap labor, cheap quality. companies always exaggerate the bonus potential and that's their big pitch.

be glad you didnt buy what they were selling. There investors will soon be out of money and you would be out of a job. if you were out on the street and your severence was almost gone then i understand.

Yeah, out of money. Good point.

With a half a billion in cash and 250 million per year in sales, Ikaria may go belly up any day now.

Idiot.
