If you are fired

I have a friend who made Presidents club eight times including a lock this year and as soon as this person hit early fifties was bullied, harassed, and kept back from promotions.

This could describe about twenty or thirty reps in our company right now. High performers, good people, strong work ethic, honesty, integrity, etc., etc., although everybody knows "integrity" awards are a joke. Two guys in one region along with their manager were under heavy investigation by HCC, all found to be violators, and given stern warnings about their actions. Their reward: The RBD gave them all "integrity" awards, and the abm nominated the RBD for an integrity award, which of course he got.
The reward for the older reps: Being harassed and managed out of the company. I would say this to those reps being set up for failure: Once they get rid of you, make this board your personal JBI blog. Name names. Post documents. Report violations to your state attorney general, the news media, medical associations, and tell all your friends and family how this supposedly ethical company ran you out of a job just because you celebrated a few more birthdays than the evil management who run this gulag.

Fuck this place. This is an enormous waste of time for anyone who is serious about working hard and being recorded. Management is full of ass kissing moron and they hire the same. The company could have at least given direction to the high performers that they would never be promoted so they could pursue other interests in other companies. I have never been fortunate enough to win in the presidents club but I have seen my fair share of discrimination too. I don't have any good feelings about this organization anymore. Not going to be here long enough to be able to retire with a pension so I hope this company takes a nosedive.

Has anyone else got a request from their manager to report dirt on a certain older rep now on disability? My manager thinks it's disgusting but told me they have all been directed to find anything they can to build a case against the guy. What the hell happened to this place?

It is part of the cost cutting tactics of management to force the older or higher paid reps out and replace them with less expensive copier reps. The sell it as "Diversity" within the work force to have the workforce come from various backgrounds. They can spin the word "Diversity" to mean anything they want.

Older people don't fit into the boss's definition of diversity. Unless you're gay, of course. Then you are a valued employee.

You can't sue individuals. There are statutes in place that protect workers from this legal action while they perform their duties. Only the corporation can be sued. If you received any other advice you should ask for your money back. There is a class action that is poised to be filed on behalf of those either separated or about to be where their age has played a significant and detrimental role in their employment and advancement. Keep watching this board. Contact information for the filing will be available shortly after Johnson& Johnson proceeds as planned.

Roll call---who's in?

After Tuesday night they cancelled the strategy meeting on how to burn a certain rep. I loved the look on one manager's face when they called the rep's name. The abm almost turned green. He must have wondered why so many people looked at him right at that second. We were toasting about it later. Best part of the whole meeting!

I saw it too! What he gonna do now? It best he just surrender. Our man too smart, too good for him. You can't deny he da best! What did you say to your team, sucker? You said the truth is in the numbers. Read em and weep, then. Read em and weep.

Can you blame those managers for hating that rep and anyone like him? He's everything they want to be: Handsome, nice, successful, talented, a person other reps look to for leadership. They're just jealous. Haters gonna hate.

I think they should force those abms to have the guy give selling and relationship building seminars to their teams. Then the abms might win for real and not selling on the spread or just getting lucky.

With AM did across the board, every one o Eds should have made P Circle.

You're an idiot. The only reason academic reps like AM win year after year is because of Ed's team, who are the ones who really make the hospital business grow. They have to work so hard in those accounts that they don't have time to pay attention to their community accounts so they end up not making P Club just because they have to focus so much attention on the hospital accounts. It's because of them that AM has made P club the eight or nine times he did. It's because of them and Ed, who is probably the best hospital account abm this company has ever seen. So don't go praising the wrong guy.

Puleeeeze! If they spent less time on their side businesses they would go to P club. AM territory changes over his career. He still wins. Leadership conspires to get rid of him. He still wins. Manage him out if you want but if he seeks legal action, pray I am not deposed. Not everyone is onboard with what you've been doing. And yes, anyone including managers and directors can be sued. Anyone who thinks they are protected acting on behalf of the company is a fool.

I'm pretty sure Art has won P Club as an IS-G, IS-R, ICS and academic. I know him well and he's a great guy and a great teammate. Unlike a lot of his regional partners, he always share credit. I know that I'm not the only partner he's credited in emails to the management team. A few years ago his regional director and manager split his territory up and gave his strongest accounts to another rep and gave him 4 or 5 dog accounts. We watched his numbers get better and better until he was back on stage again. But you listen to the GI team in that territory and it was all because of their work. We used to laugh that they never had success in those accounts until AM joined them but of course it was just a lucky coincidence that AM benefited from. For about the tenth time. Lucky guy, that AM. Probably the luckiest guy in the company.

And I'm with the previous poster. They better pray that I'm not deposed either. Maybe I should give Art a call.

I think it was about a couple of years ago EG had two reps out on disability and asked AM to cover their community accounts while they were out. Both reps ended up winning P club for the first time ever. That says it right there.

After Art won the trip at last year's meeting, a few of us heard a certain manager telling his reps that it was a fluke and that the guy would be lucky to ever win a P Club again. Even the manager's boss was agreeing. We told Art what they were saying, and he didn't even blink an eye. He didn't even say anything bad about the people who were saying it. He just said, well, I guess I'll just have to prove them wrong. And he did. I know of at least eight or so reps who were there and witnessed when he said it, including his manager. He not only proved it, but from what I heard he finished number one. Talk about closing.

"Any man who hyper focuses on another man does not hate that man. Rather, the first man is in the deepest love with the second, and his full attentions as well as intentions rise and fall with the flow of the second man's life, and intensify more as the secret love remains unrequited."
(Sigmund Freud)

EG, it's time for you to fall out of love with AM.
