IDEXX HATES ITS EMPLOYEES

Obviously most people on here do not like Idexx, but was contacted by a recruiter wanting me to interview and wanted to know what realistic first year income would be. It Is for the Omaha, NE region and the DPC position. Serious responses are much appreciated.

Dear prospective recruit, IDEXX was a fine company to work for. Their pay wasn't exactly top tier, but the working environment at our lab was always cordial, professional and efficient. There is room for advancement, and since the company operates worldwide, foreign travel is also a possibility. Our team of managers were easy to get along with, and there were no conflicts that couldn't be resolved. All-in-all, I would recommend IDEXX as your choice....just as long as you're not applying as a courier.

Having previously worked for IDEXX (over 10 yrs, in many different departments/capacities) I can tell you that the whole culture of the company has changed, not for the good. Pre-Ayers, it was work hard, play hard, and you'd be fairly rewarded (regardless of your level) - options/restricted stock, etc... Now, it's work hard and the fatter get fatter, do more with less, etc... Actually the best thing that happened to me was to leave IDEXX!

As far as the DPC position, tough gig... I would suggest asking how the AIM (Capital rep) in the area performs. Stay away from digital and software!!

Peace...

Sorry but I have to agree. i worked for idexx for 9 years and was so sad to see all the changes. the DPC role is the trickle down role- as in shit trickles down hill. You will be overworked and undercompensated. if there is anything that Idexx needs to get done they will make you do it and tie it to your comp- I defy any of the RMs to deny this- need I bring up the days of being paid to get surveys filled out, D&As signed, etc etc? It's a shit role and there is no wonder why there is such a high turnover. Back in the days of Dave Shaw it would be an honor to work your butt off for Idexx. Now all they care about is the bottom line. Even the customers see the change-do some homework and call around to your local hospitals and see how they feel. And selling capital equipment in this economy sucks. Good luck.

THe DPC role is a FUN job. Sure, there are alot of expectations and it is hard work, but to me, it is totally worth it. The company makes a FAR better product than any competitor and is taking the extra step in customer service and utilizing technology. The customer base is a fun group to work with. No other company is out there investing in the industry like IDEXX and it shows in the product.

I would think Idexx would be the best choice. Antech has cut it's sales staff, and is getting out of areas where there is no courier. That will give Idexx a huge amount of market share. Antech employees are demoralized, and apparently upper management is about as organized as a street riot.

Idexx is getting the best leader PAH ever had. He's not only fair, but he will make sure that the company treats colleagues as they should be treated, and he will build a TEAM. As for the idiot that said he "destroyed PAH for 7 years", consider the source there. He made top and bottom line revenue numbers while making it a great place to work. The only people that are disgruntled were the ones that didn't want to work, and were pushed out after being able to hide for years. That list is a long one. George will make Idexx a company that people want to work for. Don't listen to these losers that say differently. Numbers do not lie. He put them up. And his was the only division in PAH that did so every year.

I agree with the last poster. GF will be a great addition. He is probably one of the smartest people you'll have the pleasure of working for. Now if Idexx was getting Clint Lewis, I'd really be feeling sorry for you people. That is the guy they should have shipped out, and given GF his job. But enjoy GF, our loss, your gain.

DPC target payout is about $90-$95k depending on seniority. Base of $50k to start with merit bumps to over $60k, commission plan of about $9.5 - $10k quarterly, $500 car allowance, $100 for cell phone, $100 for office phone and internet. Commission plan is as simple as quarterback rating. But you can kill it if you're in the right territory, have good distribution, work your butt off, etc. Last year I grossed over $160k, year before $140k. My wife hated the company. They used to hire from the military significantly but company policy has changed. I would recommend against taking a job. Even if you're really good, you'll be back on the job market in three years.

You must be smokin what you're selling...holy sh*t. George build a team? DS, OP, etc... Do you know what a top line or bottom line number is?, by the way there is a lot more to running a successful business long term. Look at who left PAH in those years, they were all top performers...guess numbers aren't everything topline boy. George either completely bombed launches or severely under performed the potential of launches. He created a sociopathic culture that would cause the average person to need a shrink after escaping the asylum called PAH. Throw him some skittles that will keep him busy for awhile.

George's productivity is a farce. Sales force expansions that worked, successful new product launches, strengthening brands for long term performance .... Can GF claim success on any of these? ... No way! More bureaucracy and less leadership accountability are more his trademark.

The thing with Idexx is that the CEO has no clue what BS the management team is doing. The management team will say things like "if someone were to do this nobody would catch it" making reference to a shady deal. So, you have all the ethical stuff, that you are asked to ignore by management and in addition you have to deal with all the in-house sex with married employees and people sleeping there way to the top. I could write a screen play on what I know! Idexx is famous for promoting the wrong people and if the wind blows the wrong way, I may take what I know and become a whitsle blower. Be afraid, you may be who I am talking about. Next post I will give the initials of the individuals. Oh, and by the way I am working with my lawyer on this so you should take that into consideration. So tempted to give the initials and names but I will refrain until next week. Oh, and Jon Ayers if you want to call me just get involved in this post because I know where the bodies are buried so to speak. We also have a relationship because you have been in my car.

Idexx should be able to make some pretty good strides in market share, as Antech is cutting sales staff and slicing courier routes. Idexx stock is near the top of it's 52 week range, while Antech's is near the bottom.

Party's Over

With over a 50% turnover rate yearly (including a few promotions) but mostly firing and quitting, it's no wonder the party is over. Beware of the company that "looks" good on paper, but is a mess internally.

Some of the management are great. But there is too often a mix people who are promoted for no good reason. ex. former AIM from Canada. One of the worst co-workers I've seen who has been promoted to management. What a joke. Sits at home all day and gets drunk on wine, gossips. Doesn't work.

I quit last year. Do yourself a favor field reps. Get out while you can! You'll make a great employee for another company!
