I work at amgen. ask me anthing. I'll answer honestly

Does Amgen still require Covid Vaccinations and how close would they look into a fraudulent card? I don't want to drop dead of a heart attack.

Unfortunately, the world is not just enough for the idiots who have refused to get vaccinated to drop dead once they finally do for no reason other than to have a job.I think you’re good.

Does Amgen give Fridays off in the Summer?

I’m guessing that you’re in home office. I would not worry about Fridays off. Worry about finding another job. We should all be looking for a back up. In case you haven’t read up on it, Amgen is notorious for very frequent restructuring in all aspects of the business - they do not hold onto dead weight. It is unlikely that this is going to be a situation where they wait months to start the laying off. I seriously hope that everyone has learned that comments like those of Amgen leadership’s about “buying the people and the products” is BS. Not a single person here isn’t easily replaceable in their eyes…and in reality.

It's not necessarily getting rid of dead weight either. Amgen acts as a big bank and closely watches every penny. You will be replaced if a cheaper alternative is available. If you read the comments then you'll realize that there's no loyalty from Amgen leadership to the employees. We are all expendable and replaceable.

I've heard from numerous VPs that have met with Amgen transition teams that they constantly reiterate how they bought us for our people and products. None of us are easily replaced as these are rare disease products thst require a different skill set to sell successfully. I know I have this skill set and my drs know I have this skill set. If amgen fails to see this it won't be hard going elsewhere.

I’m sorry, but if you think the IBU folks with their month of training are a skill set to keep…

Op here- we will announce what divisions will be created at your national meeting. Eye and Neuro going to rare disease...Rheum/Neph going to our Rheum division. Eye and Neuro reps will be account manager level, Rheum/Neph will come on as our higher level sales rep.

If you believe that, then I have a bridge to sell you.
Your naïveté is painful in so many ways. I’m guessing that you either have not been in this business very long and/or have only worked for Horizon. For those of us that have been doing this a long time, I can promise you that not once has a VP or top level leader in this situation ever said “yeah, they don’t care about you, and you should have a backup plan”. They ALWAYS spew the same BS. Horizon leaders want you to keep performing to make themselves look good in hopes that they can justify keeping their jobs all while working on their back up plan. Of course the Amgen team is going to spew the same BS. They don’t want to have to lose the people that they are going to want to stay, because they cost money to replace.
I’ve got news for anyone in home office. They will likely want to keep people who have relationships with certain types of customers that they don’t have already, but that’s it. The ophthalmology folks likely have the best chance at survival, as that’s the one area that they don’t have people already in place. Their neph & neuro teams are bare bones, but since neuro cuts were so recent, they probably kept anyone in home office that they would need for Horizon’s product. Rare disease selling in the field is somewhat different, but even then they can find someone just as good and for cheaper. For everything else done at Horizon, it’s either very similar to any other disease state or Horizon doesn’t do an exceptional job with it compared to other companies.
Hey, if you want to keep on those rose colored glasses, go for it, but don’t claim that you weren’t warned.

Well, if that’s true, then they can kiss any decent rheum/neph rep goodbye, not that I think they care.
Any additional word regarding realignment of neph/rheum team? Wondering about percentage cut, territory size, structure (all one team or separate neph/rheum), reps per geography, and, especially, timeline of restructure once the deal is complete in March. Thanks in advance.

OP here. This is not true.

OP again- expect minimal changes until sometime in July/August timeframe at the soonest. Nothing else decided.

Fake news - they will not announce anything until the deal is done so this is a lie. Likely just another jealous Enbrel rep - probably the same one that kept bitching about the OP writing “op here”.
