I hate working at Merck because .....

We are not here to illustrate a thing. My job is only to make your miserable useless life a past employee of this company. Quit it saves us money, don't quit you are mine!

You are there to coach...thus, illustrate and show by example.

Your answer is classic and is a perfect example of managers who can't coach or refuse to do the very core of their job. Just here for the well padded paycheck? Easy ride?

Typical of those who choose to downrate reps, cut certain people without explanation. Then fail or refuse to provide the coaching needed..

More managers need to be scrutinized. Its coming.

Because of all the senior leaders who were "groomed" from within and are not in touch with what's going on in the rest of the world. They are still living in the Merck of the 1980's.

No fresh blood, or experience, or skills or perspectives at the top.

Whomever did the grooming needs to go back to beauty culture school!

Seems some unsightly things are not being addressed...

Bitch...bitch...bitch. I am actually quite happy. If you are not happy go somewhere else.

Yeah, yeah, yeah HR troll.

Fantasy land "Merck and happy place". It is just like Disneyland working here isn't? Everything is just one big fucken fantasy.....

I guess I could be happy working here if I liked getting bent over the barrel and ass fucked every day.

Hey, maybe I'm dumb or something but I never hated it. Put in a huge amount of work hours, never cheated the system and went above and beyond for the job. Dedicated and loyal was my middle name...

Got canned...and for no real reason.

Not to state the obvious, but have any of you thought about leaving? Life is truly too short to go to a job you hate. Get a plan in place and make a move on your terms, doing something you love. I did a few years ago and looking back, I should have done it much sooner, I was just too scared. But really, is this what you want to look back and remember that you did with your life? Find something you love, and go do it.

Like many older reps I planned to stay until retirement or until bridge eligible...

For some very weird, and obviously top secret reason that was abruptly cut short despite putting in more than 110% in all I did...

Doing what I love means getting rehired to reach retirement eligibility.

Wah, wah, wah~~life's not fair.

Tough luck. Go join the rest of the losers on the unemployment line.

Better yet, I hear Cuba is hiring~

Wow...a lot of hatred here. Your job is what you make of it. I got along great with all of my managers. Keep in mind they have a job to do and answer to a higher authority. Help them meet their goals and they look at you as a true member of the team and treat you with repect. I had many reviews with my manager on a golf course. And one at a casino. The negative changes occurring at the company weren't created by your DCO or CTL. They too feel the pain. Learn to get along and live out your remaining years or chose a different path in life. Life is too short to hate your job year after year.

Nah. I'd rather bleed them dry. I hate this company, but I love my job these days.

FU Merck

Hey, you can get along with everyone but if anyone decides they want you out expect lies to fly!

Good managers dig deep. Get to the bottom of the slime. These guys do their job like a man! Crappy manager live up to their name, and don't give a crap....

Its a battle of men vs wuss in the world of CTLs....

Fick You. I didn't hate my job but what Merck has done to me and people and know and care about makes me hate this place with a passion. I hate it. It's a pay check and I will keep taking it until they kick me out. Why should I leave? I have other things in my life that I love .... I just hate evil Merck.

Good for you. You should keep being miserable with that hate the world attitude. Way to be in control of your own life. Do you really think Merck cares how you feel? They just want productivity, and if they don't get it, you'll be let go. Unemployment is a lot cheaper for them to pay than your high salary. Some people are of a different mindset. They control their own destiny and not let a corporation do it for them. I can feel the anger in your response. Others will appreciate your waiting because that's less competition for a new job. You'll see how easy it is to get a similar job with a huge gap of employment on your resume. Take control before you have a heart attack! And I've got no skin in the game. I'm happily retired just trying to share the reality of the situation to younger folks.
