I call a BS on this last poster. Who do you think you are kidding!!!!
I see you personally as one of the few that has no insightful knowledge or experience, because I know who you are. Your arrogance might get you somewhere, a ticket out the door. That is when Biomet is sold and they come in and see where the real talent is. That is if there is any at all except a few of us? I personally will be part of that cleaning of the house and Blackstone agrees. Biomet is a company that is the weakest managed company I have ever worked for and yes I have had these same discussions with others who equally agree. So enjoy you shortened time and arrogance.
Sure! A real professional like you will be in charge someday...NOT!
Again your arrogance is showing thru. Maybe I am in charge already. Someday you may learn athough your head is so thick how will it be able to see thru the clouds? I guess there is not much up there so you should be fine.
I think that anyone in a leadership role would be too smart and to busy to be spending their time on this message board. Also keep in mind that the people youve surrounded yourself with may not be your fan...

Come on. Look at those in leadership roles at Biomet. I think their brains are already gone. Most of them are past their prime and if they are in their prime they are brainless to work for a company so dysfunctional. They hide behind their desk and stand still making few impacting descisions. There is so much fear in this company that no one wants to take a stand and have some balls to take a risk in doing something outside the box that actually might cause them to have some success. Look at the VP's that are only there because of who they know versus real talents. I would not call Biomet in any means a company with talent at the top. It is more like top friends who work the system. Performance is not fairly measured it is all based on friendships and being in the right crowd. For those with talent they would have already moved on to a company who recognizes talent. Those who stay have nothing to offer or the competition does not want them. Consider this - Biomet is the lowest paid, well known of all the ortho companies - why stay? As a director level or below you cannot make decisions or basically have no authority so again there is no satisfaction there. I just find Biomet to be poorly managed non creative, not at all professional, non innovative, non educated brats in orthopedics who make hiring decisions based off of looks and friends. So again no real talent which equates to no new innovative products. This company will continue to lose just a matter of time.
Some fair points on this thread, but what company is perfect? Acknowledged that Warsaw is not a location that draws great talent from the rest if the country, so most talent is recycled. Regardless, what company is perfect, especially in these poor economic times that hurt all businesses with overregulation and other anti-business laws? No wonder almost all industries are pulling back, just to weather the storm.
Has anyone ever thought that it is the INDIVIDUAL that holds the key to making the most of any given situation? This is the foundation of America and has distinguished this nation as the best in the world, since its inception. The collectivist mentality of blaming others in power within Biomet, is currently endemic within the liberal culture of this country. The individuals that are blaming the company for its weak leadership, management and products and services fail to realize that success of The Company depends on these very individuals.
Make a positive difference. Take the high road for a change.
Liberal America has nothing to do with the failure of this organization. Literally, it is the poor judgement and placement of mediocre "talent" that was recycled from other companies for this downfall. The root cause is clear, the solution is also, get rid of the losers that brought about this huge mess!

Blaim? Call it what you want. But I have to agree with the poster. Weak leadership = Weak Company = Biomet. A company that continues to have a negative financial impact loosing 10's of millions of dollars per year consistent for more than 5 years does NOT have good leadership. It is not related to poor economic conditions other companies are thriving. Biomet's management is the reason and this is now obvious or at least it should be. How can you defend management that continues to make poor choices and continues to loose millions of dollars every year?
If you read the post carefully, it is does not seem like a defense of senior management. Rather, it seems like more of acknowledgment that bad decisions were made, but that we as individuals still need to do the best job possible and make the most of the situation. Ever hear of turning chicken shit into chicken salad? Take it for what it's worth.
Turning Chicken Shit into Chicken Salad could be done but would take more than your intellectual capacity is capable of.
The chicken is to damn old. Time to snap the head off that chicken.
I think you are onto something. Old - not creative - no new ideas - no innovation - follower versus leader = sounds like most of Biomet.

Well a quick read of this thread answered my question. Why would a designing knee surgeon in the SE feel the need to bail out on this company. What a group of disgruntled folks at Biomet........His partners will follow him out the door....can you hear it slamming?
