Huge Reductions In Headcount Coming

Oh, drug reps..sales. I was thinking you were saying a head count reduction of an area that mattered. We hire and fire sales every six months or so. Head count usually stays the same on that. It doesnt really effect anything and no one cares. Especially share holders. Which is what matters.

Especially the special shareholders and executives who get special options right, Johnny boy? How now, Red cow?

hearing bio-med reps being down sized again and moving move over to diabetes primary care next year....not sure how many more bio med reps the dbu can absorb. crazy...there are already too many reps now in the dbu.

The Lechlingbird

And the summer became the fall
I was not ready for December
It makes no difference at all
'Cause I wore my money all summer long

My eye-make-up is dark and it's careless
Some circles around my chins
Sometimes the real color of my skin
Is green as my cash bonus...

And when I voicemail you
Will you walk gently
Thru my parking lot
The ones reallocated at night
The ones fired out of spite
That job you dreamed of
Is now an ending nightmare
Red T-shirts pulled around them tight
Cryin' for the night
Cry for the Lechlingbird... tonite

Lilly is way too top heavy. Many senior leadership positions to be eliminated.

Yes. They were trying to justify it by this "FIPNET" concept. But how's that working for ya?

No, in the end, a couple fast ones might get you by for a while, but in the long run, acquisitions will only be as good as the judgement involved.... not so wise lately.

Stock buybacks to inflate the stock price? Come on if you were GOOD you would be INVESTING in talent. Or is the whole innovation gimmick just a lot of smoke?

FIPNET is a disaster! Outsourcing the cafe and cleaning staff is one thing, but science, discovery, marketing and strategy are a whole different ball game that we were not ready to play. If you outsource your competitive advantage, then you will look like the average of the industry - dry pipelines, me too, questionable ethics, greedy pricing, sales force proliferation, social media monitoring, consultants galore!

if there were any trade secrets before, there aren't any after.

They are hiring but why?

New hires out in a flash?

Makes zero sense!

You obviously haven't been around long. I got hired during an "expansion" 5 years ago (along with about 150 other reps) and was reallocated a little over 6 months later. Wasn't just the new hires, the whole division was cut dramatically. Had to move 3 states away to keep a job.

Think they wanted to impress Wall Street with a big launch and that was it. There have been many expansions/divisions that were created and only made it a year tops.

Back then there were other jobs to slide into. There aren't any now so those cut will just be gone.

Hospital reps, TT reps etc... were all hired off the street for specialty divisions and were dissolved within 10 months. Just because they are hiring means nothing and they don't always let the new reps go. My partner was a hospital rep with 18 years and lost his job to a new hire with 9 months.

Bye Osteo and MH!

As big as you think the reductions will be, they will be bigger. Most will be 'managed out', to avoid pay-outs and 'packages' of various sorts. The remaining shell-shocked, walking dead will then be subjected to the most vicious sort of PM imaginable, again, with the goal to get the clingers-on to voluntarily exit without expectation, or obligation, of any sort of pay out.

Document everything, folks.

Insider here. The following are being stongly considered for reduction: Internal reductions to include Directors, Managers, Associates on all levels to include Brand teams, market research, MH, Osteo, CV, Public Affairs and Account Mangement in MHS. External reductions will include Director, manager, and rep reductions to MH, Osteo, CV, Sr. Care, Biomeds, and field MHS Account Management.

No option but to make reductions as directed by recent CEO call. It is the belief that we have to get spending under control and cutting headcount is our only option.

Whatever Wow Street wants Wow Street gets. Will the dividends increase? Gotta pump up that stock price even if it is a HUGE FREAKING BUBBLE filled with nitrous oxide
