Huge Reductions In Headcount Coming

why have reps when managed care dictates everything. think about it, spend more money on managed care so your product has great coverage, then everything will fall into place. you can have 1 rep calling on multiple territories. pharma reps do not bring value to offices, and if you think bringing samples is value then you need to really have a good look in the mirror. back in the day before ipads, email and DTC, they did bring value, but now a days doctors can educate themselves on there own time. these offices don't have time to see reps anymore due to insurance reimbursements being less and less to doctors, causing them to see more patients. when i was in pharma, i told everyone if your going to stay in pharma, you need to be on the managed care side or get out. being a pharma rep is cool for a couple years when your young, making decent money and can work half days, but there comes a time you need to really evaluate your situation and have a gut check.

Sad but true!

You are all morons, you have no idea what you are talking about, blow hards. You all just like to stir the pot and have nothing better to do. Note to self: instead of being on CP go back to school and get a degree that will offer you a life vs being miserable in pharma. I am 2 months away from completing my MBA at a top 10 school and devote my time to studying vs being on this worthless site all day ....losers. You control your destiny.

I have found the MBA to be worthless. Hope you experience otherwise.

MBAs say: Our R&D is M&A (and simple IP theft). Good luck with that.

You are speaking of the same group of managed care reps that get slammed on CP by the page load regarding "pajama RAMs" etc. I worked in managed care for 20 years. Twenty years later managed care is still ugly step child of corporate. Managed care is a place to toss the broken glass, sexual harassment cases and alcoholic friends and peers of days gone by. Managed care the token corporate expenditure that dictates revenue, yet pay no mind. Similar to the national debt.

It is seen and an obstacle vs a catalyst to growth. Myself and the managed care teams are partially to blame for this.

I think you are telling a bit of "windy" The University of Phoenix is not a top 10 MBA school.

Just think in two months, you will be one of-thousands-of drugs reps with an MBA placed behind their name on LinkedIn. Now, tell me that will not blow the world off its hinges. Go on with your bad self MBA drug rep.

Oh, drug reps..sales. I was thinking you were saying a head count reduction of an area that mattered. We hire and fire sales every six months or so. Head count usually stays the same on that. It doesnt really effect anything and no one cares. Especially share holders. Which is what matters.
