Huge Layoffs Coming in October 2024

Seriously expect more layoffs through October 25. Not likely to continue past that for 2024 but there’s always Q1 2025. They try not to lay people off in Nov/Dec due to the holidays and financial planning and reputation. If you can make it to October 25 you should be good. Take 2.5 weeks off now and hide.
I’ve been hiding for 29 years in my company sales wagon charriott Volvo in hospital garages & cafeterias,
your advice is superlative!

Has anyone an idea of the total number of impacted employees across sectors, functions and countries? Probably in the 1000s and not just 100s?
The original post stated 10,000 back in mid-August. I’m assuming that person had inside knowledge of the layoffs, so it’s also fair to assume the number is accurate.

Layoffs and dumping old pension employees while Joaquin Duato salary doubles (117%) to over $24 million. Yeah, that’s Credo based. I would never accept that kind of raise if my employees jobs were at risk. It’s called leadership.

Only 231 laid off (check NJ warn notice). 10K is a crazy number. That is not happening for sure. People are just fear mongering.
231 is just JJSI NJ-based employees being laid off as of 12/27, that number does not include the impacted IM individuals informed last week, ot future impacts in Medtech, other states or OUS.

So Mr. Brilliant you think the total number is 231 just because you saw that number in a NJ warn notice. Wow, what a genius you are. Can you not read specific details posted above for CVM and other groups. The total is already close to 5,000 now. If you are missing a brain do not post on here. You are either dumb or a company troll, or both.

The determine by the nine box talent matrix probably, it’s the corporate textbook go to for people selection.
Don't forget proximity to eligibility to the retiree medical benefit. If you are close to eligible, you will be a target. Why pay for that if they don't have to. Large layoff within DePuy last year and almost all affected had been with the company for 15+ years or were over 50 yrs old. Got 'exceeds expectations' every year, but I was 6 months from retiree medical eligibility so out I went. Looks like I am also on a 'do not re-hire' list, because I have applied for several openings (some identical to my prior role) without so much as a reply. This has got to be the most ageist organization ever.
