How to save MS sales jobs

OP here, I am so disheartened and disappointed by the lack of positive responses here. I thought we were a team and cared about one another and we would fight together to protect each other's job and livelihood. The first reply came from someone who said they have a luxury SUV to feed and private schools. How horrible !

Then we have people calling each other names and hurling insults and profane words at one another.

I am so disgusted. I wish I could volunteer to be displaced. I'd love to take the severance pay and start over at company where people care about their peers not just themselves. This totally stinks.

Oh please! This isn’t the Girl Scouts toots. You look out for you, I look out for me. People will stab you in the back as soon as you say hello.

Wow! That’s a fact, huh? Get real. Every single person that is afraid of losing their job had been on here at least a dozen time including managers. Every single person is looking for a shred of truth as the company has given nothing. Only on fact remains, those that end up keep their jobs have become very unenchanted here and now definitely do not plan on staying here long term. Genentech has played their cards and clearly have shown how they value their employees...which is zero.
 






One promise I can make, if I ever lose my job, I won't be on any message board whining about it and blaming someone else. I manage my money responsibly and live within my means. Haven't bought a new car in 2 decades, not because I cannot afford it, but because it's stupid.

I am in GIO and I am sorry your franchise has to go through this right now. I remember they had all the positions posted for the MS division. Most of us were shocked at the numbers of territories that were created to sell Ocrevus. Is Management admitting they hired too many of you? I am curious what the communication has been as to why they over hired and now they are laying off.
 












Because sales volume will be the same with fewer people. OCRE is best in class. It is selling well because of that fact and it will continue to perform with fewer people selling it. They could have cut even deeper.

There have been openings in Lucentis which no one will touch with a 10’ pole since last fall and they’re open for a reason. I’m guessing a displaced Onc or MS rep will do their homework before applying for some current openings.

Do you have to take a position if offered? If you choose not to, do you still get a severance? Most openings will be displaced in the near future. I’m one of the Ocrevus bait and switch victims and am curious?

Thank you for the positive thoughts, but there just aren’t a lot of Genentech sales job openings right now. Many that feel they are on the chopping block have no options.
