Hospital Reps

Are all the hospital postings that have been coming up due to an expansion in the hospital division or have their really been that many reps leaving lately?

Yes, there are that many hospital reps leaving the position and many more to come. Upper management thinks "good riddance" because they weren't performing anyway or some other bogus justification for why they are leaving but ask any of the hospital reps out there... they are ALL miserable whether they are performing or not. It is really such a shame because Teflaro is an amazing drug...
Isn't it telling that people are leaving in droves despite the "bad economy"? It's because upper management is completely clueless and don't get it whatsoever. Teflaro is not making goal so it can't possibly be that the goal was unrealistic, its because the reps aren't working hard enough!

Keep looking for more openings....they are coming...

yeah...you are so right! what's the problem and where is the sales?? i am sure if you just live with those prescribers they will start writing more teflaro... and by the way screw the cost differential with vanco & ceftriaxone, that's no excuse. look at forest and how generous they are with our phone allowance, roommate pairing at meetings, etc. who cares if the hospitals are going broke...we don't care about what our customer wants...we should drive, drive, drive....LOSERS....

This is all so true. I am a top performer and I am also miserable. This company from Howard on down is just fucking nuts. They are driving out great reps that have been consistant performers here at Forest. At this point I am praying we get bought out soon so there will be a change in culture or I get layed off!!!

Your competitors are dealing with the same cost differential with vanco and ceftriaxone as you and have been successful at doing so. Our price is significantly lower than other branded MRSA agents and has the proven safety of being in a trusted class of antibiotics. You are all a bunch of whiny losers. "we are too expensive!", "I can't get access to my physicians!", "I was a top performer and now I can't sell a thing, it must be the drug!"

that's right sir, reps try to think outside the burger box-and sell!

You must be a fucking r***** and not aware of the marketing position of Teflaro. Forest does NOT want the MRSA branded market... I agree with you Teflaro is a great choice before other agents such as Cubicin, Zyvox and Tygacil HOWEVER they are niche drugs. FOREST DOESNT WANT TF TO BE NICHED!! EMPIRIC, EMPIRIC, EMPIRIC!!! WE WILL NOT MAKE OUR GOALS IF WE ARE USED AS DEFINITIVE THERAPY!!! Do you really think that televancin, cubicin, linezolid and tygacil are empiric??? DING DONG??

I have no damn problem selling it in that space but if you think that this drug will be used empirically in the ED all the time you are smoking crack. And by the way it goes directly against the tenets of antibiotic stewardship. But instead of HEARING what the reps are saying... just FIRE THEM ALL!! That will work!!

Like I have always thought... there will always be whiners in every salesforce. But poll the entire hospital salesforce and see what they think!!?? That must mean that ALL FOREST reps suck since most of the hospitals reps came from Forest. There are a lot of good Forest reps who are thinking... "What the fuck did I get myself into???"

I have been with this company for a long time, I used to like working here. I have done very well here including PC winner. This job is now a total nightmare!! My RD and my DM have no idea what they are doing, the company has made very bad business decisions with this drug and are now freaking out and making everyone's lives miserable. I feel like I now work for a different company than I used to work for!!

Said that in an interview and the RD from Arizona looked at me like I was nuts. It is fun to be proven right again. Loser company.

This is why Forest should have gone to seasoned antibiotic hospital reps from Pfizer, displaced Wyeth, or even Ortho-McNeil. We have understood the difficulties in this environment esp. since it started turning in 2007. It takes years to really uncovering access to some of the physicians who write in the hospital as well as leverging relationships to get access. You guys don't know anything about the big phsysician groups, where to find them, or how they prescribe, or about healthcare reform and how it is changing the landscape in the environment. I have not even discussed antibiotic resistance patterns, and that is one area where Teflaro will eventually see a short future. I feel sorry for you guys, you were not told that this job is extremely difficult, and you have mgmt. that has no experience and no clue about the hospital mrkt. What a shame.

like being a hospital rep- eat cheetos in parking lot

Every week there are 2-4 openings in the Hospital Division. I have two friends that just left. One that stepped down to go to Forest's Speciality Division and the other to another Biotech company. I know several that are close to getting other job opportunities and several more in the process of waiting for confirmation of stepping down to a speciality position. Things aren't getting better rather they are getting worse and those of us that are doing well in each of our segments are also stressed out and unhappy. DONT come work in this division. This company has no clue how to navigate in the hospital setting from an inpatient standpoint and this quarter will be three times more stressful than they last. We did not hit our goal first quarter and the goal for this quarter is 3 x's bigger!!!!! LEAVE!

Again, thank you for the laugh. If a rep at Forest is unhappy or not cutting it on the sales front, they are OUT, and not by choice. Hsptl reps who cannot perform are not being worked into the "specialty jobs at forest" that is utter bullshit. And who the fuck would go from hospital to primary care errrr, specialty at forest anyways? what a farce.

I know this is not a farce because I know of at least 2 hospital reps who did step down to another position within Forest. It is true that with many hospital reps they are just pushing non-performers out even though it has been only 4 MONTHS since the launch meeting.

All this just shows you how utterly clueless upper management is on how to launch a new IV antibiotic. They are wondering what's the problem but instead of listening to any of the issues we are facing they think we are just making excuses. When you go to the launch meeting and the doctor from Harvard says it takes a long time to get teaching institutions to put new antibiotics on formulary was he just making that shit up?

I guess they just expect us to "work around" those gatekeepers, ID's, pharmacists, etc. and get those ED or surgeons to get it on formulary... ha ha ha ha... just makes me laugh at their utter stupidity!! I am just riding this puppy out and looking forward to a buyout and hopefully a termination of those idiots running this show....

In reply to post #17....
Three of the hospital reps in my division alone went back to territory spots...it is a very real situation and I'm certain more will soon follow.
