it isn’t the lack of MBA, it is the talking about the paid weekend courses at Harvard’s “leadership” academy as though they are on the same par… these are literally fodder for LinkedIn humor memes in the venture capital and IB world. It is a red flag and shows a lack of awareness of how this is perceived in the Fortune 500 c-suite setting. If you’ve ever seen a ceo get eaten alive by WSJ reporters on an earnings call, and then watch the stock sink further, you definitely worry about the pedigree of your CEO and their ability to know when the sharks are circling. B school is one of the most basic experiences a leader can have, and yes, it is important.
Ya got most of it right. But it ain’t WSJ reporters on earnings calls; it’s the analysts. And BH is as silver-tongued as they come. Dude can spew Mgmt-speak for hours. He’ll dazzle the MMM analysts just like he did at ZB. But it’s all smoke and mirrors. A bunch of promises to fix what the previous leadership got wrong, followed by a flurry of promises and activity, resulting in zero accomplishments.

BH is a vision guy, not a doer. He is relatively charming if you don't mind hearing about him...all the time.
