Good luck during layoffs

The entire ZS outside consulting doing the mapping of the country and eliminating positions is BULLSHIT. BULLSHIT. This company kept maybe 2 HT reps, so they didnt give a shit if you were a top performer or not. I finished in the top 15% 2 yrs in a row. I am angered at the lack of professionalism throughout. Ed is a complete oxy moron and I hope he and his schering cronies continue to run this division to the ground. I have never met a less competetent sales director. Moron. He needs to know the lack of respect reps have for him and how no one in this company actually ever liked him.

How can you be a "top performer" when your product sales have been flat since they made the HT position? It's no secret that the OC group has led the way the last few years. Unfortunately HT reps were all on borrowed time since we lost Bithena launch. It is unfortunate that so many lost their jobs but don't think the new ABD's didn't have MAJOR influence on who stayed and who didn't. They know who will grow sales and they have more faith in the OC team then the HT team for obvious reasons.

Hate to break it to you but Seasonale was not a "new product", it was simply a generic pill that was packaged differently. We live in an industry that is only "line extensions" at this point. It doesn't pay to find a new drug candidate these days, extending patents is the easiest way to continue seeing revenue. I do agree that we haven't had a single good thing happen to us and our company since EJ took over and brought over a bunch of Schering leftovers. We wouldn't even be talking layoffs if our leadership didn't get sold a bill of goods about Paragard needing to be priced like a Premium product!!!!

What Phil built has been destroyed completely and its a damn shame

What exactly did PG build? Obviously you weren't part of the group at the time Barr took over, or you wouldn't be describing things this way. PG did not build, he covered something crappy with a new paint job and marketed it as new. PG did not build, he treated the sales force like it were a game of chess and replaced pieces.

Severance isn't great either.
3 months of severance for less than 5 years of loyalty
Five years or more = + 2 weeks severance for each yr
Will pay cobra thru sevarance
Will pay estimated Q3 bonus
Cars to picked up within week

RMs received a better severance as long as they agree to all hr stipulations.

Is this information correct?

Look, just because Barr steals the ideas of other companies and promotes them as original, buys other products and markets them under their name, and has never developed or invented something completely on their own is no reason to bash them.

We, as Barr reps, eagerly await the opportunity to detail physicians on old products in new packages, new products that weren't wanted by their founders, and copycat ideas which are useless to the world.

Don't mock us, we are Barr, a company founded on the principles of stealing, litigation, and deceitfulness, and won't tolerate any dissention from the pharmaceutical world. You may not realize this, but we ARE a real pharmaceutical company with real products.

Our management team is world class, with executives that are desired by the finest fast food restaurants in the country.

We are Barr, and wholeheartedly follow the Robin Hood principle of stealing from the reps to pay for the upper management. As a Barr rep I will gladly forfeit thousands of dollars of my expected bonus to a company that alters the payout in order to promote the lavish lifestyle of those above me.

We are Barr, and recognize the importance of unnatural hormone therapy, despite the findings of the scientific community.

We are Barr, and trust that a generic OC can be packaged as an 84 day product and priced so that our competition laughs at us.

We are Barr, and feel that despite our efforts to compete against Ortho Prefest in the past and the fact that this product has been bought more times than a teenage hooker we are in a perfect position now to promote the product, regardless of the credibility issue with physicians.

We are Barr, and you, for whatever company you work with, are lucky you aren't us.

In all honesty, the true loser is the person that did not see the writing on the wall back in 2004. Sounds like you are someone that is now on the outside looking in and just bitter about those that moved on years ago before they had to add to the number of people in this country collecting unemployment.

Best of luck to you.

The guy is a piece of work. He only cares about how he can use you to further his career. How does corporate not see that?

How else do you think anyone ever moves up in this industry? You must be that "career rep" that is always complaining because you just can't move to that next level and it is everyone's fault but your own!

As far as the rankings thing, that did matter but only what you did last year. Anyone with a below meets performance was laid off. You might have done well but got ridiculous quotas and they nailed you for it. If it was based on volume and performance then I would still have a job because I know I had higher volume than most of my district. Yet it doesnt matter and we all still have to wait a full day to find out the severance package, now that is the sign of a poor company(well there is many signs but I picked that one)

I was told the same thing--that if you received anything lower than an M on your 2010 review, you would not be considered for a position in the restructure. That they were only keeping "top performers," which is laughable. People who won Gold Cup and had high rankings in all years BUT 2010 were laid off.

Then please explain how the entire HT team was laid off...except for 5 HT reps.

Duh Duh Duh you idiot! You want to talk growth and volume? Let me see you explain how the OC team grew Seasoinique from its shitty 2% market share the past 2.5 years, um, they didnt so shut up....Growth? Growth? The OC product has barely grown on a national level which I find ridiculous. Enjuvia, although being promoted in a DYING DYING ET market, DID grow. I for one can say my market share was almost triple the national average. You compete against your peers idiot, and if you are growing when your peers arent you are a top performer. So, the OC product was equally or more flat than Enjuvia. What an idiotic response.

I was told it was all about geographic proximity where you live. You had to already live in your territory not even 10 miles outside it. I have heard a lot of pharma companies are using that as a determining factor let's face it does save money do a degree.

I would bet most of the reps kept are probably looking for another job anyway, and are on borrowed time.

I hope they benefit from the paragard dtc ad's if marketing does not screw it up. I mean how hard can it be to buy ads on Bravo and the E! channel that is what Mirena did.
