Fixing Heartware?










How many more businesses does he get to mess around with and fail to fix and still be considered a leader?

I don’t know one person that has ever considered him {NN} a leader. Geoff, this isn’t getting fixed until you make a change and lead. We are drowning. I get the optics and he’s untouchable. Leaders don’t worry about optics-they worry about what’s right.

Another alternative is to give him another award he didn’t earn, but please get him out from heartware.

People keep leaving - maybe put him in charge of a different buisness that’s stable and mature that doesn/t require top-shelf leadership, and he can coast on the success of a high performing team.

that didn’t work at pelvic or energy. he ran both divisions into the ground. i don’t care where he goes just get him away. i can’t say he’s impacting my docs because he’s never interacted with them. no credibility or integrity.

You’d be nuts to go for this and leave good-stable job. This acquisition has been a disaster from the beginning and I was there. Current leader is a disaster too.

Well MDT will divest HeartWare to private equity so realize that you won't really be working for Medtronic. But the warning letter needs to be cleared first for Medtronic to get any value. So the good news is that clearing the 7 year old earning letter might take another 2 years...so you have that going for you, which is nice.

MCS is probably the biggest mess at Medtronic right now. Hard to get a “win” or be considered successful when you have quality issues, uncompetitive product and morale in the toilet. Current leader seems checked out. The good people are being moved into other parts of the company where they have a chance to get ahead before they leave.

We were told 2 years ago this problem was going to be fixed. Total lack of accountability to get this work done. Clinics are so done with these excuses.
 








This whining is getting kind of old. If you could sell, you would be out there earning your keep. Instead, you're on an anonymous internet board crying about how someone else is to blame for your own shortcomings. Take a page from Geoff's book and get to work. We have 3 weeks to make the quarter.
