Murray is Lucifer and Granowitz is Satan. Pick your poison. Doesn't matter you end up in Hell either way.
Murray is Lucifer and Granowitz is Satan. Pick your poison. Doesn't matter you end up in Hell either way.
How do these these two jokers survive and get away with this shit in today's work force environment.
Because Murray has a portfolio of success leading Medical Affairs while Granowitz has brought nothing to Merck from Schering except slashed budgets, dissention and failed support of launches. Blame senior management who fell into the trap of believing his credentials, marketing experience and ability to provide budget givebacks. So now senior management has to live with the poor results and re-examine Merck launches while the evidence is right under their noses. What did BMS and Vertex do prior to launch vs. what Merck was funded to do? Why such disparity? Are the slashed launch budgets worth it when you forego millions in annual sales over the longer term? Align, Prioritize, Stagnate.
Adam, Mark: please listen. Dr. G's approach to medical affairs is doing us a great disservice.
He does not know how to build an organization that can collaborate with marketing. Instead, seems to want to compete with marketing. His past experience as a marketer makes him think that he can do a better job, and in fact he has disdain for Merck marketing. This dysfunction is contributing to the disastrous key launches in the US. How are you letting this happen? As a company, we can do much better than this.[/QUOTE
You are pissing in the wind. Don't you know by now what sort of traits this company rewards. It is not right but will never change. Those with power like Granowitz and Murray can do what they please. Must be nice to live life with no fear.
Why such hate for the good doctor Murray? He knew things would get really ugly under Granowitz and he left. What better place than the Chief Medical Office. Rosenblatt seems to be everywhere and speaking on everything. How many times a month is he quoted on Sync? Never mind that there’s little to no results, he’s an Academic that happens to be working in industry, so he’s an expert. But that type of academic working environment is perfect and amenable to a very flexible work & travel schedule. How superior is it to tell people what to do, what to say and what to think. So what if Dr Murray went to China to “consult”, everyone knew the results would be the same as if he stayed here, but his achievements to objectives are none the worse. He went, he told, he came back just like his boss. But look what’s happened to USMA since Murray left. Poor Sethu is caught between his boss and the CMO for a voice and losing badly. CMO is building – GDSAs, grants, visibility! The USMA staff is in absolute revolt. When there were complaints to whom did Harvey reach out? Outcomes Research apparently doesn’t travel well. CSL’s are looking for value. Rumor has it that Professional Affairs is being run by proxy seemingly without Sethu or Goldberg aware that Emad captains the ship. Payback is a bit*h. Maybe Murray got it right!
Poor Sethu. I feel bad for the guy.
Poor Sethu. I feel bad for the guy.
Has anyone seen thre USMA employee engagement results? Other departments have already put plans in place to address.
Only Mark & Adam can change the score by fixing their "Granowitz" problem. Shoots, ladders, pathways, compensation framework nor new my learning won't fix this broken group. With poor business results, poor scores and widespread revolt you wonder how he survives.
He survives because he has the most important Merck leadership skill: managing up. He will blame the USMA survey results on others.
The fact is that Nasty Granny reports to Adam Schechter and he was hired by him into this position. So one has to assume that Adam support what Nasty does. It is hard to believe that Adam is not aware of all of Nasty's shenanigans.
