Is AZ going to pay the electric bill because it’s going to be huge? You don’t. This is part of our zero carbon sustainability plan. In the long run it’s good for the environment, however we will need to roll with the changes. It will require more planning on our part (like remembering to plug it in every night), but AZ is footing the bill for plug in station at your home, expensing added electrical costs, etc. It won’t cost you anything to switch, but will save AZ and our environment a lot. Just think - when gas was up $2/gallon - with 6,000 co cars, costs went up $12k for just 1 extra gallon of gas per car. We take that for granted. AZ is committed to being a leader. Let’s do our part to support our employer and our environment. Plus….it will likely be 2023 before cars are delivered due to all the chip shortages. Let’s find the positive in the change - like we still have a company car than only the negative. None of us want to foot the entire bill for car payment (esp in 2022), gas, maintenance, insurance, and depreciation. Still a huge perk despite the type of car.

No. Charger technology/app can tell how much power is utilized each month and you will be reimbursed. Consider it like your cellphone reimbursement. You need the technology to do your job and AZ reimburses. In other words, cost does not roll down hill for switching to electric. AZ is financially invested and covering costs. Is AZ going to pay the electric bill because it’s going to be huge?
This is where planning comes in. You have approx 230 miles on a full charge, so most won’t be on empty daily, but best practice to plug in every night (like your IPad ). If your power goes off, you should have enough charge to drive to nearest charging station and charge. Main concern is infrastructure to support needed charges, but I dare say we probably drive past multiple charging areas a day and don’t even know it since we aren’t looking. There will be an app to help you identify closest chargers when needed. They really have created a solid plan. Reserve judgement until you hear all the details….I know it’s hard, but you may be the one that doesn’t get your vehicle for another 2 years and our colleagues will be the ones leading through the new process. Will you get paid days off if power is off in your area for more than a day? No juice, no drive.

You Will All Be Extinct Before 2025! Bank on that. It’s a great move on AZ’s part but it has it’s flaws. I agree with the poster about electric car choice. If AZ really wants reps to get into an electric car they should have offered more than just one option or the ability to pay more for a better car. The chevy bolt euv isn’t really an electric car most people want. Clearly they got a deal on it and made it the only choice. All about the $$$ and getting the best bargain. They had difficulty getting reps to participate in the pilot program because no one wanted a bolt. If better options had been available more reps would probably be inclined to switch over. It would be difficult to convince a rep to give up their Rav 4 or Ford Escape for a bolt which is much smaller than their current car. It would be considered a downgrade. I have an escape and know I would not give it up to get into a bolt. AZ should have at least gone with what other companies offered like Teslas at Novartis or electric Volvos at Amgen. AZ fleet manager doesn’t understand how much time many of spend in our cars and the amount of driving and sitting in traffic. Just because the fleet team does a test drive round HQ and feels it was the best car choice isn’t enough to justify going with such a small car.
It will require a lot of planning for those getting into these cars. Key thing is remember the quoted range on an electric car is not real world. Having driven my share of electric cars you should take about 20% off what ever range you have. Depends on so many factors such as if you have a led foot, going up hills and highway driving etc. My guess is initially it will be a big learning curve. Look at how many of us wait until the fuel light comes on in our cars to get fuel. Wouldn’t want to take a chance in an electric car because charging stations will not be as abundant as gas stations for quite some time. Can see a lot of people needing to have their car towed to a charging station. Also as you go from office to office better make sure you have plenty of range. Don’t want to miss a lunch because you don’t have enough range and need to stop for 20min to charge etc.vs 5 min at a gas station. Glad I have a while before I have to think about this as they want a complete roll out by 2025.

It is not a perk- it is a tool for the job. We have to pay a monthly fee for this car that is more than the industry average. Electric vehicles are not a help to the environment. The batteries are Infact a huge problem for the environment. From the mining to the so called recycling. The “recycling” is sent over seas to slave labor and pollution of other countries where you liberal pussys never see the destruction- yet you feel so good about it while your trannie son puts on his new dress and you drive “it” to its therapy session.

Wow, insecure much? Must be trying to overcompensate for something....
Go tell this to the CEO. He comes up with some AMBITION which does not makes sense for the environment. But the whole AZ dances with it and makes it their own ambition! It is not a perk- it is a tool for the job. We have to pay a monthly fee for this car that is more than the industry average.
