Does anyone know if this could result in termination?

I remember reading in the employee handbook that your DM should be notified within 24 hours. Not sure what to do.

Checking into rehab is not an option for me.
 




of course you can be terminated. Personally I would not notify anyone at Pfizer. Meanwhile look for a job outside of Pharma. This could be your biggest opportunity to start a "REAL" career.

Do you want to play with samples/signatures the rest of your life?

Do you want to be a DM and drive around office buildings 8 hours a day observing the new bee make an ass out of himself while you critique?

Don't be stupid. Consider this a blessing in disguise and run as far as you can from Pharma Sales.
 




Sorry to hear brother. I could get a DUI at least once or twice a week but have been lucky. Drinking and driving is all too common these days. In my opinion it depends on your relationship with your manager and whether you have good numbers.

Take caution and do NOT tell any of your counterparts. Good luck.

I think your only supposed to call your DM when you're drunk and their on an overnight out-of-town stay. That's unofficial policy.
 




Do not despair. There are literally millions of people in this country who have had DUIs including President Bush and Dick Cheney (who had more than one by the way!) Sometimes people will act all holier than thou and judgmental until they get one themselves. Upper management, even at the highest levels is FULL of people who have or have had alcohol problems. Some of the most talented people on earth have had struggles with alcohol. Do not let this one event define your life. If you have a great boss, he/she will not want to see you end your career this way.

Get yourself a good lawyer, get yourself a good alcohol counselor, STOP drinking and driving, and get your ass back to work. Whatever your lawyer says is what you do. Period. Everything is dependent on circumstance and how you handle it. So handle it in a positive way and move on. Goes with the turf. Just be damn glad you didn't hurt anyone cause that is a game changer. Good luck my friend. You might feel down right now but you will be a far better man on the other side of this temporary problem. Hang in there.
 




ur an idiot. u KNOW that drinking impairs u mentally, yet u choose to drink - and then drive! if ur drinking and subsequent driving caused u to crash into my wife & kids, killing them in the process, i'd throw ur sorry ass under the jail (after a fantastic ass-whooping, for which i'd gladly go to jail... but what jury would convict me?).

so why risk being a murderer? why risk ur job? u are not a smart person.

I have some really good advice on this for you but I am so shitfaced right now I can't remember it. If you are a diversity quota hire you can usually keep your job here regardless of what you do. If you're a white male, well, bend over, the PC police are here to fuck you in the ass.

We went to an unjust war with Iraq and killed many of our innocent soldiers. Why don't you complain about all the fathers, mothers, daughters, sons, wives, children, grand children that have been affected by it????

If we are going to crucify OP then we should crucify those responsible for for going to a war that has killed many innocent lives and cripple our economy.

Great post. So true. There are things that are going on in this world that will turn your stomach that are FAR worse than somebody driving under the influence. If we tried half as hard to stop murderers and driveby shooters the world would be better. Isn't it ironic that a group of alcoholic politicians try to be so righteous when it comes to alcohol legislation.
 




The obvious answer: drunk driving is not PC correct War and patriotism reagrdless of situation: totally PC correct. The soliders lives are acceptable loss in PC terms. Hey this is Pfizer, if you work here you have to understand the PC correctness is far more important than the truth or doing the right thing.
 




Fleet and Wheels will check your driving record on an annual basis and this while one DUI is not grounds for termination, it depends upon your driving history. Check the fleet site for all their recent guidance memos. Take it seriously, handle it professionally. You should contact an attorney to see if they can plead it to a lesser offense. Good luck and no more drinking and driving at all.
 




Give us a strong car allowance and get the F out of our personal lives. All Pfizer should own is the time while I am at work. If I can do my job and do it well it is none of their damn business about my "record". Nosy F****ers. Do a background check on THIS!

First off - fight it !!! Get an attorney and get a f*cking good one. You aren't convicted til you're convicted.

If yuou beat it, don't let it happena again. If not develop Plan B - is it time fopr a new car? If you get on the 'car allowance plan', they have no need to see your traffic tickets.

So for now, get an attorney, buy time and makle a plan.

My ex had one and it took them a year to find it and by the time they sent me a letter saying she couldn't drive the company car, I didn't even have one.
