Dermagraft acquisition

This will be awesome to watch……if they keep lowering their price anymore to keep in the game vs new competitors they are going to screw themselves and both products. So what happens if they lower their price to 1100? what is 1100/44? If my math serves me right that would be $25 per sq cm? and 1100/37.5 is approx $29 per sq cm………congrats you are now a low cost skin sub and even further f$cked! Better make some new pieces……and fast! Just wait until you have to compete with Grafix being reimbursed

just a few examples... foams, collagens, prisma, other grafts, autografts, epifix, etc.

Truth is that with proper wound bed prep with one of the newer next generation debridement system now available any of the aforementioned products will work. Market will look to debridement and biofilm management tools for the next step change in the wound care space as without that, nothing will work regardless of cost.

I'm seeing Pri-Matrix being used more and more in my territory now. Not sure who the TEI rep is but he has to be killing it (no it's not me, I'm not shining my own ass here). Curious as to what the price point is to the facility with them on the high end reimbursment side? There has to be room for the facilty to profit bc all mine are using it. We need the Animal rights people to step up and start protesting these cow abortions ASAP before this gets out of hand. Amniotic tissue is also a promising field and the next best thing we will ever get to human fetal tissue. Now as for this derma-Apli combo thing...I'm going with my gut = Fail. Lets find less expensive alternatives to these products and get back to basics. You both have been exploiting this field for way too long.

The new reimbursement model is procedure based, not product based. I am not sure it makes sense to worry about price per sq cm. What's the overall product cost?
Subtract the product cost from the procedure reimbursement. Does it leave the WCC some dollars to cover their other expenses? (nursing, other associated supplies, light bulbs, etc)
If not, good luck! Most WCCs are used to making $ on these applications. At the very least, they are going expect (demand) that they break even.

You know, Jan 1, 2014? That one. got it? Sqcm makes you either high or low. got it? Let your math go as zero subracted from your procedure equals zero, got it? (sarc.) Or you could subtract product cost from procedure reimbursemen = product cost. Got it?

High cost and low cost products have already been identified by CMS. The list has already been established. Lowering or raising your price at this point doesn't move you from one bucket to another.

The problem is that the asp this yr will determine which bundle you will be in next yr. so if Apli and DG have asp under $32/Sqcm then they could be put in the $400 bundle next yr. how awesome would that be. Yikes

It really doesn't matter, I'm getting killed out here with epifix and now Grafix. Anyone know if either company is hiring, it seems like there are more reps out there. And, both products seem to work

You have one account using EpiFix? You must be lucky and live in a state where there isn't medicare coverage. The reps that are in denial about the efficacy will be the ones without a job.

That's hilarious, since it appears that the whole company of Mimedix is in denial about the efficacy of the product. ROFL!!! Its pretty obvious you work for them, and that you haven't seen our evaluations of that POS product. Pretty sad. You have decent reimbursement for 1 year (now) - better bank on it all you can because as soon as real efficacy data comes out on this POS product, Mimedix will have to quickly sell off the whole company.

Any product can be seen to "work" on an easy patient who was going to heal anyway. That's why docs still put Apligraf on the hardest-to-heal patients. They know it will work.

Your evaluations? you mean the one on the iPad that all my doctors laugh at? the one that my idiot Apligraf rep sent to my doctor so they could send it on to me for a good laugh? Nice "evaluation". It looks like a pharma marketing piece. PMA is better though right? It's all about the bovine keratinocytes right? If the product didn't work, your doctors and nurses wouldn't use it……but for some reason it keeps getting patients healed and they order more product. I guess it must be the debridement or the pixie dust they sprinkled on it when I turned my back. Get with it and start looking for another job……or call me for one like the other OI rep in my territory did when they got laid off. I can't imagine why he/she would want to come sell a product that doesn't work or when they already saw your sweet marketing evaluation.

You are a joke just like your product.... DOJ and FDA are sniffing around your home office as we speak. Good luck with that. You are going to need it.
