It appears that even with very high inducements the Docs were reluctant to use C/T cans. With so much of problems attached to these cans BSX need to give something new to the market.

It is interesting to note that nobody (BSX or their competition) talks now about Cognis and Teligen. Can we say that all problems have been ironed out? Or This time BSX going to stop manufactiuring these cans and start a new life!
100000 potential time bombs are ticking!
Fidelis.
Cognis.
Teligen.
The rush to market. The bleeding edge of technology.
This is what happens when shareholders drive the bus.

Sure blame the shareholders. You wish your company had stock, instead little Max and his friends are getting loaded off your sweat. You wish you could push product out, instead the factory can only make only model at a time.
Goodness the "Mark IV Header". I wonder what the Mark V will do.
What does the V header do?!?!? It was in the change approval paperwork I told you to send in to the FDA. You sent that in, right?
Sorry, I forgot to file Supplementary PMA application for the changes to the header.
Looks like we may have to resort to shipping halt of Cognis, Teligen and Altura defibrillators and pacemakers.
This time FDA may drag it to six months time frame!
Do I still keep my job?
Just wondering how on earth you guys are still in market with Cognis and Teligen? It appears that the header and set screw failures are skyrocketing and physicians are deserting your cans.
Are you preparing for a Class I recall?
Let's see...it's been about a quarter since the last drama, so yes, we're preparing for something...
Something = ?
Shipping halt?
Class I recall?
Explant all old headers and replace cans with the new headers?
Close CRM?
You are totally some day-trader or industry analyst - but if you'd ever spent a day in a lab you'd have a inclination for what the answer to your question is...
Boston cannot be killed. They're still living off the goodwill they generated when times were better. They can release shitty product and advisries til the cows come home. Docs are going to implant them.
Will they lose market share? Sure. But never to the degree that all the doomsday trolls on this board want everyone to believe.
You can show me the P&L's, the junk bond status, the Debt Ratios - blah blah blah...all of that is fine. I can show you a 5 year track record of recalls and advisories. I can show dead patients, and through it all I can show you a company that's still out there getting their cans in....
So - even if C/T if a Class I recall - it won't matter - it'll be a shake of the head and a slap on the back Friday morning, and another week of scheduled implants in the week to follow.
Is it not BSX is now living on borrowed funds? How long you continue to borrow? How long CDRH of FDA will tolerate? I am sure some senator’s son or daughter will get BSX implant and once something happens then there will be war in device industry resulting heads rolling.
Fortunately, I am not a pacemaker dependant and I only have your can “in case”!
You guys who are playing with patient lives and making money to survive, please step into our shoes and see what kind of lives we live.
Go back to your drawing board and learn how to design and manufacture a decent hardware like header, set screws and lead ports etc. Please don't rush your products without first proving them in the labs and then on dogs and then conduct a decent human clinical trial without cooking the results.
This will delay time to market but saves your reputation (Hello Guidant) and in the long run your stock holders will make money. Remember how much you paid for Guidant!
BSX leadership and culture killed Guidant.
How long these glorified cans will continue? Time to scrap these and bring something robust!
