Changes in Institutional Sales - return of LTC?

Lots of rumors flying about a return of LTC to the Insitutional Team.
Some are saying about 70 reps and 8 managers will be carved out of hospital to form a new LTC sales team.
Others are saying LTC is coming back but the positions will be added and the current hospital sturcture won't change.
And others are saying there will be hybred positions - reps working both hospital and LTC.
Can anyone offer clarity? Or at least as much clarity as one can rightfully expect from a CP response?

Ask your manager you idiot!!! Don't come to CP for your information

Actually they are converting your territory to long term institutional care. You will have a panel of 10 federal prisons to call on for Linzess. Apparently there is a big market due to fecal impaction. You get to do in-services in the shower. Make sure to bring your Linzess soap on a rope.

This will be the straw that broke the camels back. Namenda xr... No thanks. I feel bad for those 70 reps. People will be looking to move after this debacle. Not a fun time for IS.

No way will we go back into LTC. Why would we drop LTC then 2 years later start a new LTC sales force, that makes no sense.

Because management has no idea what they are doing! Forest has NO business trying to sell hospital drugs. They are completely incompetent. Case in point...they disbanded LTC (ie, the older, experienced reps with higher salaries) to save money and now they realize it was a mistake. DUH. Who the f*ck was going to sell Namenda XR, Forest??? Does this company ever PLAN for anything?? Ahem...Lexapro...

Forest has no long-term strategy. We are winging it day after day.

Namenda has done very well in my territory. I think the XR will flop. However, all I have to do is goose my large neuros for more scripts than everyone else.

Fricking hilarious!!! Thanks for making me laugh!!

this is the quote of the day!! I have never seen such a debacle in my life and I have been here for many years!! Who the hell is running this place?? Incompetence is an understatement!!

It is all EH. On the investor call one of the wall street guys asked why Nameda sales were down 80 mil. She actually said it was due to the required reduction of antipsychotic use in LTC facilities. She is either a fool or a liar...I'm going with lying fool.

I blame the mess that we are in 100% on her!! She is in charge and obviously has NO idea what she is doing!! This is very evident!!

What is the big deal? So you have another drug NM to sell and you can sell Teflaro while you are calling on the long term care facilities as well. Why are you whining about having to go call on more places to get business?

Sure realighments are part of business. And to most at Forest this is a non-event. But don't minimize the impact on the 300 people in IS today. What's the big deal? Really?

1) Hospital territories increaseing 40% in geographic size, and lossing 2+ years of relationships.
2) New LTC territories being even larger - 65 territories for entire country. Even with holes in coverage everyone will be traveling a lot more.
3) We just went through a Hospital launch with a management team that had no clue. After 9 quarters things are finally improving. Imagine starting all over again in LTC with a management team that is completely clueless again. Those of us who survived the last IS fiasco do not want to live through a repeat.
4) The company has proven it is not very good a measuring LTC performance. After all, they thought there would be no impact to Namenda when LTC was terminated. Enough said....

I could go on and on.....like them or hate them, you should have a little understanding for the IS reps and DMs. (ya, DMs - they have zero say and input, too....they are along for the ride just like the reps) SMH

Teflaro in LTC is going to be soo easy.
No formulary
Frail elderly with renal issues
Levels have to be sent out to the labs $
A lot of ABSSSI and they always assume MRSA

For 80 a day it is an easy call for the DON.

The LTC reps will generate more DOTs than the rest of the country within 9 months.
Namenga RX will be a complete flop, I would focus 100% on Teflaro.

65 LTC reps??? Why 65 the old LTC sales force only needed 40 reps. Who is going to train LTC teams, I don't think we have many people left with LTC expierience. This already sounds like we have no idea what we are doing.

I don't think they plan to sell TF in Nursing homes. That would make too much sense. Still excited?
