Cardionet Vs LifeWatch

Potential is easily there if you work hard. Many reps are doing 140k FIRST year, but many are not. The sale is a lot different from pharma, it is also more gratifying. Docs are very interested to hear from you, and see you. I would agree with the other poster, that if one player is firmly there, it is pretty difficult to take the business. Depends on your current relationships. If you have them you will do very well. If you do not have them, it can be very tough. I could never go back to pharma.

How are the benefits and car allowance? Expense accounts?

im curious...some strong feelings about if cardio net or life watch are better etc but in looking at the financial performance of each company over the last year...both seem to be growing well recently and in general both seem to be benefiting from better and more clear reimbursement trends..my question is regradless of which company/product is better...whats has happend in this industry over the last year or so that both companies are growing top line and making strong EBITDA when werent not that long ago..is this a blip or has something shifted in this sector for the better..ie...a good and sustainable growth trend for the industry? thanks..

Expansion across the US will larger sales force. Basically just getting the word out to docs.

is there a sense out there, again, regardless of bias to cardionet or life watch if both are in fact better clinical outcome than older technology and in both doc and petient best interest to us? i wonder to if reimbursement at new CPT code is viewed as "fair" or likely take a real hit in 2010 if use of that code gets abused etc

I am also an experienced Cardio Hospital Representative who has been approached by recruiter for CardioNet. I have been in Pharma for 12 yrs and am sick of it. No self satisfaction at the end of the day. is the main reason. I consider myself a hard worker and have great relationships with the cardiologist in my territory (1st question by the recruiter). She told me some rep's made between 150k-200k last year (including bonus.he said cap on base was about 85-90K). I said that was great, but what is the average. I don't know about the various companies, but if I move forward I will conduct my due dilligence post haste. If you could answer the salary question posted by other potential candidates re: salary, I would greatly appreciate it. The numbers discussed on this site, referenced I believe was 120k. Could you please tell me if you folks are talking base, or base plus incentive. If you could, what would you consider an Industry average for a person new to your Industry with my experience. Also, is CardioNet expanding nationally, or just in high potential areas? Also, how long have you been with the company and if possible, tell me your top 3 reasons why you like the company and how it has changed your outlook, since you left Pharma. I thank you in advance for your candid response. I can say just reading the posts tonight was refreshing (i.e. relevence, not too much profanity, areas for me to research). I am ready for a change, even if it means a pay cut for me. I am sick of Pharma. Take care folks and remember, we all have responsibilites and families depending on us, go easy on each other (let the nubers do the talking).

Most LW and CN reps start out at 65k base. The average commission payout last year was between 30-200k. Every LW and most CN reps made at least 100k last year including comish. Wont be as high this year since they have past the initial telemetry boom (sorry). If you want to get in with a company just launching their telemetry device, I would recommend eCardio.

Who made 300k in comish last yr? That is not right.

stay away from eCardio....bunch of crooks. As for LW and CN, are adding reps now to build up critical mass of business...and will be be laying off reps left and right in the next 12 months. LW been using this same philosophy for years.

Interested. Anyone have details on Cardionet AE territory size/ travel, convention attendance, transportation car or reimbursed?, and can anyone confirm salary details base/ commission/ benefits? Thanks for the serious replies!

You should evaluate the management turnover at LW - they have had 3-4 COO's in the last 4 or 5 years - there's a reason for that... I'd be leary....

LW has experienced continuous turnover over the past 6-8 years, weak management, and loosing ground in technology. CN technology is outdated also and will soon be obsolete, management does not understand the industry nor it's customers. Customers are less happy with CN than they are with LW. CN pushes and lies to their customers about service, billing codes, results, and competition. CN has been successful in the past in raising capital, however, the guy responsible for that is now gone and top management there are all buds from another industry and they just don't have a handle on the cardiac monitoring business even though they are enjoying a short lived wind fall. CN has fundamentally bought the business and that won't last for long....just ask most cardiologist throughout the US. Always ask the customer...they'll most always tell the real truth about how they feel about these companies when CN,LW will not.

He was fired because he could not sale the ACT. Lets face it we are all in Sales to make money, if you have the fire in your belly there is money to be made in this new market, no one is going to leave on faith terms and go take on a job to make less money, GET REAL. If he left on his own his no compete would not let him work for Ecardio, think about it.

Who ever wrote the above is uninformed and certainly has no legal knowledge. Non-competes are virtually unenforceable. Clearly the person writing above is uninformed and lacks knowledge in the area of non-compete law. Also, I understand that TV works for another successful company within the space without incident and is doing very well and is happy.

Not always so. Non competes can be enforceable. The compete part is not always the issue, it is the solicitation clause that gets you and the non dislcosure convenants. Each state is different and some companies have very enforceable agreements, especially if proper consideration is given to the employee. Furthermore, I have only heard good things about TV. I just hope the company he has aligned himself with weathers the storm in the coming months.

Thanks for bringing back to our attention. We will look into this matter and see if we can request a Stop "Cease" (Legal Term). See a non compete may not hold up in a state BUT in the mean time regardless of the state the company the rep left can request a court order to have the rep Cease business until it is settled. And the FACT is the rep would have to STOP Selling to those customers until it is settled. And in most cases the new company will not want to put up the $$ for lawyers and say bye bye to the new rep.

85% of reps at CN make between 70-100k. 15% do 100-170k. You won't be one of the 15% because those reps will not leave a territory. Any territory open is one that has averaged 70-80k. The top paying territories are in the NE, where CN conducted their trials and paid for the business. The reps in these terrritories know they are very overpaid and aren't going to go anywhere they actually have to work. True.

You are clueless. The base is 75 minimum alone. And people are making commissions on top of that, so 70-100k only if you are an idiot that does not get out of bed in the morning, if your only making a 100k the company will replace you in 3 months. Top territory in the NE? The highest paid sales rep was in TX last year. The sky is the limit, if you want in it is what you make of it. Can make a lot of money here if you really want to.
