People not thinking this isn't that good of a product should re-think it again. As a ton of doctors and nurses will be all over this medication. Here is part of a thread from a Yahoo MD web site:
"Hello,
Interesting discussion going on here. I was just reading about Acetavance in Anesthesiology News. For your information, I am a physician (MD) and specifically an anesthesiologist. Although acetaminophen does have very weak anti-inflammatory properties, it is not considered an NSAID per se. This is generally agreed upon by the medical community when referring to NSAIDS; acetaminophen is considered in a separate category. And although by itself acetaminophen would be inadequate for the sole treatment of most surgeries, it will not be used that way. It will be used as an adjunct to other pain medicines in the hopes of getting a synergistic or at least additive effect so that the doses and side effects of other medications (i.e. opioids) can be reduced. This is called multi-modal pain management. So I think it has great potential as evidenced by its widespread use in Europe. I think it will be used a lot in pediatric surgeries where acetaminophen alone is usually adequate for children and works quite well. The problem with giving it to children now is that it is usually given rectally leading to highly variable absorption. The IV form will eliminate this problem. If approved by the FDA and available on our formulary, I plan to use it quite a bit. I hope this helps. I want to research the company a bit more but I think Acetavance is promising."
I totally agree with him/her as this will be used in conjunction with a lot of other meds to reduce opioids etc..
There is a opening in my area and I think I will interview... as I have the background. Just not sure on company culture etc..
No offers going out until FDA approval. Those are inflated numbers from your friendly recruiters
Fish Joke?
I went out to san diego and saw 8 officers from 8am to 5pm; all 1 hr IV's. I would have taken the job, but they went with a scios guy.
