Hey everyone, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out when some of the postings on this thread include swear words and other nasty language, that they are either psotings from management already onboard at Cadence or someone that is upset because they counted on this job. There is no reason to be nasty - everyone is just giving their opinions.
It is obvious that management is scrambling to keep everyone onboard and they have a huge fear of losing everyone. Here is a fact that many of you may not know. Do you realize that the current managers are being paid currently on retention? This is a fact and you can certainly ask the person that would be your manager. They have nothing else to do and that is what they are paid on. Everyone internally is fearful that all the candidates will now take other opportunities, which is going to happen. No one can wait forever. If you are a top candidate, then it would be foolish for you to at least check the market out. If someone is going to knock you for looking or leave messages with nasty language, you know they feel threatened. I agree with the other poster - do what is right for you. If the job opens up in the next several months, that will be great, but protect yourself by continuing to look. We all know that deep down there is no loyalty anymore. You need to watch out for yourself. If you think this drug will be approved in March - forget it! If you think it will be approved in APril - forget it! May - Highly unlikely. I agree with the others that even if the issues are resolved in the next 6 weeks, there will be several meetings afterwards and the FDA will be very weary of saying yes right away until they are absolutely sure because of potential liability. The details at the manufacturing plant should have been heavily scrutinized by both Cadence and Baxter months and months ago to ensure the highest level of quality, safety, and manufacturing. It shouldn't have taken the FDA to find all these mistakes - some of which are pretty serious. If you can manufature a consist drug product time after time, this is a BIG problem. In the next couple of weeks, everyone will be getting the warm and fuzzy calls to make sure that no one walks away. There will be more than 50% that will walk away - the rest just simply wont be able to find a comparable job any sooner.
If I understood your post you are saying that the managers are getting paid to retain the reps that have accepted the contingent offers?
