So, are any of you in sales yourselves? Do you know how hard it has gotten to obtain budget dollars over the past 3 years? Do you realize that SDI and most other vendors who are in the $50-$200m space have not been able to grow year over year? And you blame weak management for that?
Do you have any idea what is about to happen in pharma to ALL vendors? In the next year, Aricept, Lipitor, Seroquel, Nexium and Actos go off patent -that is HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS OF $'s in sales, so do you know how many promo dollars that represents? My guess, NO. Do your homework. Maybe you can look at the SDI or IMS audit and learn something. It will be like a tidal wave of budget cuts, mergers, acquisitions, etc. and the number of vendors that are in this space today will be cut in half.
You can blame individuals, weak management, or whomever you choose, but you should learn a little bit more about the market your sales folks are selling into before you cast judgement. There is not one person to blame for any of this- it is an accumulation of things happening at once.
Switch industries, go to work for a generics company or MC Plan if you want to survive.
