Biogen Layoff Tracker

Look on internal job postings. They basically condensed the regions and all of the RSDs have to interview for their old jobs that now cover a bigger area or they can take the package.

no severance option if you weren’t impacted. Boo!

If the company was looking to boost revenue, they should have done some sort of RSD "Hunger Games" tournament with various challenges, feats of strength, and some hand-to-hand combat for the new jobs.

Film it and stream that shit on Netflix or something. Call it the "Tournament of Failures" or "Battle of Morons".

This place fucking sucks.

Well, I kept hearing it, but from Deb’s call, it didn’t sound like that was an option. If it were, wouldn’t we be given it before they announced who was staying and who was going? Also, wouldn’t we all be on the second call this afternoon that gives info on the severance?
It sounded like the only ones with an option are those that were laid off. They can take severance or take one of the new roles of they apply and are offered the job. I hope I’m wrong!
Where is the opt in if you don’t want to stay?

Why wouldn’t they give people the option to take severance first and then do the layoffs so that those that want to stay can do so? Idiots

Well, glad they got rid of SSDs. Mine was a waste of space. I’m out of here in a few weeks, so they can all suck it.

Shitty as far as benefits go. They should pay for medical-dental for at least the severance term. If they want to be known as a culturally ethical company they would reconsider this.

Total bullshit. God forbid Michel take a bit of a cut to pay for that given how much he’s fucked this up. I have another offer, and I’m out of here. I don’t care if the NCD changes. Leadership here is beyond horrible in so many ways. They can’t even do a layoff right. Why are managers laid off and get the option to interview or take a package but TBMs can’t? I would have gladly taken the package if offered.
If I didn’t think it would bite me in the ass later, I would just stay on and double dip until the NCD decision so that I could get severance from the next wave. Though, if any future employer knew what happened here, I think they would understand. I hate this place…and I was a koolaid drinker for a long time.

I think they are doing this. They called it a cobra subsidy but basically, they pay the employer portion of cobra during the severance term and we continue to pay the same employee portion with the same insurance. Did others hear something different?

Can confirm.

If the recently deceased elects to initiate coverage, Biogen will continue to subsidize the employer portion of the insurance for a few more months.

So you’re fired. Now come back and interview for jobs? Am I missing something?

who would want to stay!!?! Ha!

This is standard during any reorg at Biogen or elsewhere. Happens in R&D and other departments during smaller reorgs, too… not just these mass sales layoffs.

Funny Michel is in love with his new digital department and bet there will be zero layoffs there.

I still believe Biogen could make a difference but the culture is all wrong since Al was pushed out. The leadership circle needs to shift from just biz ops people to actually include people who understand science. Empty jargon and management consultants aren’t going to cure Alzheimer’s.
