True, I would say the majority of RDs who you think are bad are told to be that way. Their ZDs push them to act the way they do to their reps. Most RDs dont like being a dick to people but they are doing what they are told to keep their jobs. They do the dirty work the coward ZD's will not. Almost no RD in this company is allowed to think for themselves. Some do buck the system, and it limits their careers or cost them their jobs. RDs serve as a buffer for the ZDs, and take the fall for them in most cases. How many times do you hear of a ZD getting let go for bad RDs, never. This company has one of the largest turnovers in RDs I have ever seen. They either step down, leave the company, or get fired. ZD's should manager their RD's and develop them, but they would rather rule through them. Mostly due to the fact that 90% of upper management is completely lost when it comes to doing this job. The RD's that most call good managers are only good, because they do very little to help you. They just want to be buds with the reps. They usually have spineless ZD's who don't want to to have any problems and just ignore it till they can retire. Like it or not this is the truth.
