Bayer Healthcare has gone down the toilet, what happened?

Delusional? I don't think so. Berlex was very profitable, we were well managed and layoffs were not a yearly event. If you had been part of Berlex you would know this. Do you always spout out your negative opinions with no knowledge to back them up?

If you knew anything about the industry as a whole, and had worked anywhere else, you would have an outside realistic perspective on what Berlex was, a joke.

You are right, and Bayer is worse! Never thought I would say that, but another company, as hard as it is to believe, is worse than Berlex was.

I agree and Bayer doesnt care that you, me, anyone thinks that. They don't care about the reps. They'll just hire someone else Its corporate America. Its not Berlex.

When Bayer laid you off for what ever reason at least if you got rehired it was at your original level and base pay. The Berlex policy of lying you off and then rehiring you at a lower level and base is one of the worst ideas I have heard in the industry. I understand HR thinks they can get away with it because of the state of the industry but they don't understand that these people are digruntled, they tell everyone about it, their managers have to deal with this on a continual basis, they are not loyal and will leave for other opportunities(just look how many have left in past 8 months) they don't get over it, and lets not forget how much its costs to hire and train a new hire-this is clearly the worst HR dept I have ever seen, but don't get me started about their incompetence. For all the smart asses waiting to reply-yes I was one of the ones that got rehired at a significantly lower base and lower level. i am just keeping quiet, doing my job, not complaining and looking for a new job everyday.

Not sure I understand. Berlex, over its entire lifespan, never had a "lay off". The same HR person handled that sales force that handles most of sales now. The difference is Bayer policies are now being followed, not Berlex. At Berlex downsizing was done through attrition and transfer to openings in other sales units. Berlex never let people go like we now regularly do at Bayer. No wonder morale is what it is.

It is Berlex HR making the decision on base and level-All of Bayer HR from Conneticut left the company. This never occured with Bayer layoffs before the merger, if were rehired it was at original base, hence it is a legacy Berlex policy. No big deal just the facts and you are correct morale is horrible.

...the writing was on the wall for all to see @ Berlex when SHG decided to go on the us exchange,(bean counters really took over then),Lutz was coming up on forced retirement, and many other forced culture changes took place (pay, benefits and time off) especially were deemed too generous at a US company for the rank and file and a great many other things as well which changed with scherings plans to "merge" with bayer...seeing what has happened I wonder if any former top execs from that time would turn back the clock if they could or are they all still happily sleeping on the piles of loot they made?

Know what they should really do to increase morale?? Put a mandatory WHC meeting in the middle of spring break week. Thanks a lot! I started sending out my resume!

What does spring break week have to do with anything? Last I checked, we are working that week with the exception of Friday. They are not canceling vacations, if you need the week off then take it.

Basically what happened is that reality sank in and you all realized it comes down to this "You Suck" and you have for quite some time...so get over it,pull up your diapers and start selling that crap you call a pipeline.
