If you want a sales career and an opportunity to make good money, move on. This company does not value it's reps. No promotion from within and a dwindling comp plan.

If you’re a woman looking for a job at Axogen do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. This is the worst company I’ve ever seen in regards to sexism and blatant sexual harassment. I’ve heard from several reps of a manager in south Florida shouting in a bus full of people that he “F***ed another female employee” he then joked with another rep saying “he couldn’t have because she’s a lesbian”. The female employee and others complained to HR and NOTHING happened to this manager. In my former more corporate positions this person would have been fired on the spot. Even worse an Atlanta rep tells a group of female reps that the women in the company don’t perform and that the female CEO is a moron. He then in front of a group of people tells a Chicago female rep she should “suck his d**k!” for the second time at a meeting! Again it gets reported and Again nothing happens. This is all true and is horrible to witness as a woman in todays workplace. This company is a boy’s club and if hired you will have to be willing to accept that you can at any point be demeaned, harassed, and verbally assaulted with no repercussions from male aggressors.
So - I'm in the final stages of interviewing with AxoGen. I'm meeting with this Shawn guy and his boss, JR, next week. How much/many of the posts on here are true? That's the thing with Cafepharma...it's hard to tell.
I have a solid position with a Top 5 device company right now. I've got a lot of experience in device. The thing is - my QOL is terrible. My current manager is a "micromanager to the max" type of guy, and I dread interacting with him in any way. I've been told $170k at plan. Is that a joke? Impossible/Improbable? I was told 8% on existing business and 22% on growth. Some help here would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Yes almost everything written here is true. The job you're talking about is in S,W correct? Also Shawn is Jims boss. Reach out to the former rep Mick and ask him about why they are letting him go. You will not make 170K in your area in the first year....ask ML what you can realistically expect there.
Every recruiter in the world claims the same comp $170-185 with most reps at the higher. The individual must rely on his/her own intelligence to validate. At Axg, the FACT is 90% of the reps are nowhere near those numbers and never will be. The avg rep at Axg makes $90-110. The only couple reps in the $170 range are working the large city/ big institutes ( NY, Boston, etc.). It's been that way since 09 and why the turnover rate for Axg has remained so incredibly over the top. ML finally got tired of the negative ROI ( year after year) and decided it was time to move on. However, he'll admit he should have made that realization much earlier.
Btw-I would never trust anything out of SM mouth. That too is a well proven fact!!
Good advice: Half of what you'll read here is BS and half of it is true. If you want the best shot at getting the truth get on LinkedIn and ask as many people who work for the company as possible if they'll field a call. You'll get a few different perspectives and be as close to the truth as possible. With that being said QOL is great with AxoGen and the average rep makes about 140 with top 25% in the 170-200+. We only have 29 direct reps and a couple ASR's for the bigger territories.
Lol. In reality it more like 10% or 3 reps in the 170k+ and like previously mentioned, they are limited to the big cities. No damn way the average rep at Axogen is at 140k. At best 20% are even sniffing that. The TRUTH is the majority of reps 70%+ are in the 90-110 range. QOL my ass!! Who has a great QOL when you're completely upside down on your ROI, struggling to make money and never hitting the impossible quota. Agreed about LinkedIn. Look at all the reps who have worked there and moved on. Call them. $200k says they all tell the exact same story!
I work as a rep for Axogen and have for several yrs. The biggest reason they have egregiously high turnover is due to how they blindly hit reps with pie in the sky quotas. For example, most reps are expected to increase sales 60-90% year over year. The reps are given absolutely zero input into their quota and this ends up creating an environment with alot of disgruntled reps who have 1 decent year and are rewarded with a joke of a quota that results in making significantly less money while working harder. This does not bode well for QOL or having a tenured productive salesforce eager to hit their quota. Instead, it has the opposite effect and depresses sales and assures high turnover. This is just one way Axogen shows that they don't value reps and have zero loyalty.Good advice: Half of what you'll read here is BS and half of it is true.
