Lisa M It is amazing how many CTLs and DCOs at Merck make a career out of casting negative comment on the people around them and it is perceived as leadership. I feel bad for Lisa, she is an insecure introverted person placed in a role that she is uncomfortable with. She should have never got the job (neither should girl friend Cary G have got it, egotistical back stabbing mutt), she got it by default, and Thi's misinterpretation of what good looks like.
Good in a management position, is elevating the personnel around you. Great is Praising their accomplishments and making them strive to do even more. People like Lisa are incorrectly praised for demeaning people. Somehow, Merck culture is so toxic that pointing fingers of doubt are perceived as wisdom, strong leadership and knowledge.
Any of us that were raised right, took psychology 202 in college (clearly not a requisite course when getting an MBA) and are possessed of simple human decency know that comaraderie, motivation and true long term performance come from acknowledging the skills of other people. Kind of like good parenting.
That is why Merck is such a hell hole to work in....insecure, morally corrupt individuals have clawed their way up...and will not let go.
Leave your soul at the door and run, don't walk to the nearest exit. As long as this upside down moral compass exists, and is perceived as good, this organization will not recognize talented individuals and will continue to destroy itself from within.
