Re: Severance Plan Harmonization

Dear Colleagues,

Over the last two years, one of Sanofi US’s main objectives has been to provide employees with a harmonized benefits program. We are now at one of the final steps in the US Benefits Harmonization: the announcement of the newly harmonized Sanofi Group US Affiliates’ Separation Plan (the “Sanofi US Plan”). Harmonization of separation benefits across Sanofi’s US organization was intended to ensure that every employee of a participating Sanofi US company whose employment is involuntarily terminated as part of a restructuring or reorganization, and who otherwise satisfies the terms of the Sanofi US Plan, receives the same fair and equal treatment as they depart the organization. I would like to emphasize that this announcement is intended to communicate this harmonization of benefits only, and is not related to any known job actions that would impact our employees.

The Sanofi US Plan provides salary continuation, health benefits, and outplacement assistance benefits that are generally equivalent to, or better than, the legacy Genzyme US Employee Severance Pay Plan (the “legacy Genzyme Plan”), including an additional component of added protection for our employees who are closer to traditional retirement age.

For your reference, we are providing you with a link to the official Sanofi US Plan document. Also for your reference, and although the Sanofi US Plan is now in effect, you may locate the legacy Genzyme Plan on the HR Policies page on Genie.
Please click here to view and print a copy of the document.

For ease of reference, below is a plan summary chart that highlights the new program design.

If you have any questions about this program, please contact your HR Business Leader or your HR Business Partner.

Best regards,

Jayne

Wrong.....didn't your hear Bald say discussions would be made basses on geography.....managers don't have any say. Dawn is going to pick and choose who she wants and get ride of the rest. H will retire and take the package he's already a millionaire for those of you who don't know.

Can someone please give some insight to what severance packages would look like. Some of us have families too worry about.....

Sanofi policy on severance is on the Sanofi homepage under documents/policies then under HR, I think. There's a downloadable file. It breaks it down by groups, then by years of service and payouts. Its kinda sucky if you ask me but the way I interpret it is 13 weeks for what would be defined as our group of business at one year.

Anyone else read it and interpret a different way?

My question is....where's my 150% 401k match?!? Sanofi lured/baited people to come onboard promising great benefits and the opportunity to launch a novel product. They blow the launch, because leadership isn't qualified in the OR/Medical device space, pull the product within 6 months and then lay everybody off before they can vest. We walk away with nothing. This should be illegal. It's too convenient how this all played out. Reps were targeted and manipulated to come onboard with promises that were never fulfilled. There should be a class action lawsuit. This was a huge corporate misstep. Not a rep/sales force issue.

What sucks worse is that they still think pharma tactics will work in the surgical space! Sanofi needs to stay where Sanofi knows their business (pharma) or hire VP level executives from the device industry who know what they're doing (Balzer needs to go). There is no blending of these two units...that's why it's called diversification. Honestly this device move for Sanofi could be it's undoing. They don't have the right people "on the bus" at senior enough levels to be effective. What's the definition of insanity?....Hmmm, well, it pretty much looks like what Sanofi is doing now with their surgery business. At least that would be an Einstein interpretation.

I Guess now is not the time to ask if our Base is going up huh.......

Also can't wait to see what kind of number they through at the "lucky" few who are left. "Team, we have went through a lot the last year and I am excited to give you our number for seprafilm in 2014, ........... 131 Million, we understand that there are less reps and less cases but we believe this is very doable."

Should be a fun few months

Thought it read "13 weeks minimum payout"?

B a l z e r is sitting in his ivory tower making all the discussions doesn't care about geography or past surgeon relationships.....they better be careful or they are going to learn the hard way....surgeons buy from us because of past relationships and a lot of people can sabotaged a lot of seprafilm business!!!!!!!
