Any info on Precision Therapeutics?

Question - How much of a booth presence and how many reps will PTI send to ASCO this year to cover the thousands of Medical Oncologists who will be attending the meeting?

Answer - No booth and no reps. They don't give a shit if the medonc wants, needs, or uses their test results. They just want to surgeon to send tissue and bury their heads in the sand when it comes to the person who would actually use the results. Shameful

Hey buddy, who needs a booth when you have a Bobbi? The woman is a marketing guru - she will have the medoncs eating out of the rep's hands with her latest marketing pieces and NSABP Breast data about to be released. Fast times at PTI!

These post have to be a joke. surley someone has something good to say about the Company. Heard about a opportunity in St. Louis Hiring manager GD. Seems like a good guy. I could see myself working with someone like him. I have heard a much different story from the contacts at Precision. They have said their first call point is med oncs with about 70% success rate. These post have to be from former employees who could not get the job done. It is a little concerning though.

First call point is not the med onc. First call point is surgeon then pathology to get the tissue. That's what matters at this company - management pushes specimen-in-the-door and then worries about the med oncs later. If the med onc catches on, they usually shut it down or come back to the surgeon wondering why he is sending this. Good reps are proactive about the med onc but even after, the med oncs are usually not positive about the technology. Job is huge with relationships in pathology, surgery first. You can only get away with having the surgeon send specimens/lure them in with clinical trials/play games in certain territories until they begin to notice and get enough feedback that they come back on you. You don't want to create negative impressions with powerful surgeons through this company if you are looking to stay in this arena long term. It will put a very bad taste in their mouths and have heard this time and time again. Reps are known for taking tissue without consent and even cutting tissue in up to 6 pieces in order to make their numbers. That is how stressful it is. People leave because of many factors but mainly because of the uneeded pressure of a company that is desperate. This, all while serious micromanaging and expectations continue at an astronomical rate. Right now the company is struggling. They are losing the best reps, fact. They are losing managers who were also great previous reps, fact. They are losing in house folks who are MD's, fact. The management is one of the most unprofessional in the business and such a business model will eventually cease to appease the investors. Many surgeons complain they simply want more and oncology to be on board, the product and lackof professional leadership is becoming apparant even to their clients. Close to 10 reps leaving in 2 months, all top performers, many going to President's Club and then taking off. There are other companies out there that want to help patients. Specimens in the door is not a main concern when a patient is in need. Take what others on here are saying very seriously.

Can anyone help me. My aunt recently had surgery by a gyn/onc and they sent for the Precision test Chemo FX. the results came back with everything non-responsive and she is scared. Does this test actually work and are the results credible. I got on this board to find out information and it seems that the test is not taken seriously. Her oncologist told her that 50% of the patients with a similar report actually do very well. I would just like to give her some questions for the oncologist. please help with this. She has already started chemo.

Here's a question for your aunt to ask:

Why in the hell do you continue to order this test when you just said to me that 50% of patients with similar results (all non-responsive) actually do very well?

I would give good money to be a fly on the wall during a management meeting at PTI...

Q: How are we going to spin to the salesforce all the turnover from our best reps?
A: Easy, we won't tell them. Without confirmation from management, they won't find out.

Q: Well how are we possibly going to hire capable and competent replacements?
A: Easy, we will lie to them in their interviews and give them an inflated estimate of base business and total compensation. They will have no idea until they are actually in the position and it's too late.

Q: How are we going to spin to the investors our lack of growth and loss of market share?
A: Easy, we will compensate the reps for specimens in the door. Then they will naturally begin getting more benign and early stage specs that dont even need chemo, and some will start cutting specimens in half or thirds to get credit for more. The investors won't know a thing!

Q: When are we going to publish outcomes data with some significance?
A: Easy, have you seen our data? Sure no patients' treatment has ever been directed by our assay in a study but our retrospective analyses are impecable. We do have Mike Gabrin on staff remember - the man can smokescreen anyone who presses us on lack of data.

Sounds to me like there are alot of bitter grapes in this post trail. Reps who just couldn't hack it maybe? From what I hear, Precision reps are laughing all the way to the bank. Accdg to google alerts, Bain is still in -- Oncotech was wiped out -- new partnership just came out. Growth recognition constantly. Yep, this sounds like a company that's just crumbling......NOT!

is that last post sarcasam or what? I want to interview for the philly position. Recruiter called me and mentioned this opportunity and said the territory has been vacant for some time and Precision is looking for a killer rep to come make a lot of money. Does anyone have scoop on this territory. Hope to interview soon.

Yeah you keep telling yourself that bullshit because no one else is buying it. It's "sour grapes" by the way

If you currently have a stable job making good money, then you will be sorry you took this gig. If you are unemployed, then maybe it's worth a look. Hell they hired a rep in Philly recently - he went through training and quit after a few weeks in the field.

correct me if I am wrong but majority of reps that have left have won presidents club 1-2 years. To say they just could not cut it is quite a stretch. the only reps that are still here are reps that can't get it done and have no leverege in the interviewqing process. I am one of those reps. Looking to move but keep coming up short. I don't see things changing anytime soon. We are going down and this hail mary of a lung product and biomarkers that seem like a 4th grade book report are the only hope. Living the dream good thing I am close to my yearly number so I can take it easy and look for another job.

The philly position is open because a rep took the job, realized what a shit show Precision is and quit before even officially finishing training. If you want to be micromanaged, ruin relationships with surgeons by getting them to send tissue for something they dont even treat the patient for, and get yelled at on a regular basis by pathologists this is the job for you. If you are a sales rep with one ounce of respect and integrity, dont come here.

The "top" reps all cheat to get to the top by sending in benign specs, cutting specimens up into a million pieces, sending in low grade cancer specimens that wont receive chemo and cutitng up raw chicken to make it look like tissue. But at this point even specimens in the door wont make you money, they will be all over you to sign order forms and fix your termination rate. And its even better when a poor cancer patient receives a bill for 5000 dollars for a test they didnt consent for and the doctor wont even use. Come on over to Precision if you literally want to lose all respect that you have with current customers as well as losing your mind.

Word of advice to any job seeker...run the other way if a headhunter calls you regarding a sales position with Precision Therapeutics. The company is completely corrupt and is run with no regard for the poor cancer patient (they will ultimately be stuck with a $6,000 bill for a test that usually never gets used). Medical Oncologists more and more are starting to push back surgeons that order this worthless test. As a result, the worst upper sales management team (lead by Matt Marshall - worst VP of Sales in the entire healthcare industry) will MICRO-manage you till you will want to flee from PTI. That is exactly what happened with the rep that was hired in Philadelphia. I heard he went back to his prior job eventhough things were bad there also, but obviously better than Precision. People are jumping off this ship all over the country...PTI is the TITANIC!

I used to work at Precision and made pretty awesome money, but from what I hear the money is gone for reps... I would proceed with caution. The grass is definitely not greener...

I have no idea what you are talking about. Most of these negative posters are reps that used to work here. They did not sell it the right way. they went to Pathworks and Caris to restart their career. Both companies have tried to steal our best reps and Precision will still be here long to come. They did not do the right things. don't let a few rotten apples spoil the basket. We are here to help patients get thebest care. If you are a good rep with pharma experience or phone sales come join a great company and great product. Who knows what the future will hold. Charma will catch up with those that left. The future is now for our product. who knows what the future will hold. Dreams are only a breathe away.

HAHAHAHAHAHA - now that's comedy folks

If you are employed, take a pass on Precision. If you are unemployed and have no other choice then it may be worth selling your soul to feed your family until you can find something else. Precision loses sales people so fast they are always looking for somebody.

I've been around Precision for a long time and nothing seems to ever change. A bunch of new sales people were just hired but it feels like more veterans are about to leave.

The company has problems: their names are Sean and Matt. The CEO and VP Sales are like evil twins who prop each other up and support each others sketchy actions. Gabrin, who is supposed to be the science guy is an enigma. Bobbi in marketing and Sharon in Business Development have been around a long time too and always seem to actually care about patients. There are a few new managers who are decent and are trying to make precision a real company but they will probably get frustrated and quit like so many others have in the past.

So how was ASCO for all the PTI folks that attended? Oh that's right, I almost forgot, they only sent the Director of Marketing, no reps or managers, and had no booth. What a grand showing at the largest oncology conference of the year. PTI is a joke and the fact that they don't have an interest in showing off their dirty little test at ASCO proves it
