All offers out

No they don’t have an approved product. And no one is double dipping right now and wouldn’t be until the product is approved. Which then would be unethical. How dumb can you be?

Damn dumbo nobody is double dipping now cuz our start date is still 6 weeks away. Now go back to sleep under that big rock.

The times I have looked into buying a vehicle for this job have all been really depressing. The loss will probably eat up most of, if not all of the raise I am getting to switch jobs. Anyone else not give this as much thought as they should have before signing the offer?

cars aren’t cheap. Definitely more of an upfront cost. Just don’t forget to pay yourself back when you start getting your reimbursement

Have you all who are struggling with the car thing tried to talk to your new managers about this? If enough of you bring it up as a concern, maybe they will reconsider fleet. I have had my own car for my sales role for over 5 years so it’s not an issue for me but would definitely appreciate a fleet vehicle.
I think they would like a chance to rectify this issue before they lose their top candidates for your territory because you all back out at the last minute.

All I get from my manager is fake smiles and a canned people first message. I get the feeling the honeymoon period around here will be short lived.

I was worried about the car issue too. Tbh I haven’t bought a personal vehicle in years. My husband has a car but I’ve always had company vehicles. I dont think it will be a big deal for my territory but I ca. see how it might not benefit someone in a large geography. I’m looking forward to picking out a car I actually want and that can fit our whole family comfortably. We’re looking at Chevy Traverse, Ford Explorer and Jeep Wagoneer. In order to keep the payments under the car allowance we will need the bonus for sure which will help.

Your poor husband sounds henpecked and you sound like a fool.

In order to get a car note to fit into the silly car allowance you will need to fork out 12-14k down payment. That’s BS and a total loss. You will never recoup your large lump sum car deposit. You will have to drive a Chevy Spark crap mobile.

The original first time around sales force had fleet vehicles. Of course that launch failed and everyone was let go with a nice package. Perhaps they aren’t so confident in the second time
Around as you think? Good luck!

PS- I once double dipped but it took a Cialis for me to do so. But I guess that’s a different kind of double dipping

you really need to look far below those choices. remember the cost of maintenance, tires, personal property tax, etc. Might not be exciting, but a used but good cond. Toyota camry or Corolla, or nissan rogue would be a good rep car and can be found for ~ 16-19k. Get something you can pay off in a year, and do not assume a 45k debt for this job. Been looking myself.

This isn't bad advice. Although most companies are offering fleet options like a Traverse, Explorer, Highlander, etc.. At 22 cents a mile you will lose so much money here getting vehicles like that. Unless you never drive you are still taking a loss on a small SUV, like a CRV or Rav4, especially considering a used car costs the same as new these days Now something like a Corolla you might not even lose money. I just can't imagine many people being ok with driving a Corolla after being used to a nice 3 row SUV.

People who took these offers just really need to hope Sage ups that milege reimbursement. It was said once here before, but Sage should probably think about how their low per mile reimbursement essentially encourages people to work less.

I won’t drive POS car like that for this job. We need something roomy and comfy with us driving over 40k miles annually. Nice try though ya cheap bastard.
