AIT Laboratories

Really? How do you stay in business if you aren't marketing and selling? Is AIT going to contract those services out as well? There are businesses that do, but that is usually not a desirable position to have to be in. What company would buy a company that is up to its eyeballs in debt? Several chemists have been laid off, and others were fired over the past six months. Most of the lab bench people aren't that expensive to keep, and the bank is trying to recoup as much of its loan as it can - they need the bench production people to do that.

They will be hiring about 30 new sales drones to drum up business. AIT will come back as a company, it just won't be one that attracts talented people. There's no culture and leadership is anything but. The only people they'll attract are the ones that can't get a job anywhere else...

I see another lab buying the ait's lab. The lab, staff, lab management would be their mid west hub for the company. As for the debt, it's probably good for other company because it would drive down price.
The bank is in charge now, everyone should be looking!

The bank is in charge? That's crazy and too bad. It's amazing that this place went from one of Indy's "best places to work" to firing senior leaders without severance during Christmas time! What happened? How many people got fired this time?

The bank is in charge because, obviously, AIT is way behind on their repayment of the loan they received to move to an ESOP.

Steak-n-shake was voted Indy's " best places to work" too!

For good cause! Folks working the grill make more than most in the lab. Plus, they have great benefits and an awesome culture. They're successful and profitable and have been hiring many professional positions for their local HQ.

Compare that to AIT, who tests pee and is broke.

I think I'll piss on AIT's doorstep next time I'm going by Steak 'n Shake!

AIT also tests blood! Lol

They're also broke and being ran by a bank. Lol

AIT was a fun and rewarding place to work years ago - now, not so much.

I won't say anything disparaging. But, the culture took a nosedive a while back.

By the way, I am no longer employed with them - wasn't caught up in the layoffs, as I chose to leave on my own...

what happened to the culture? i thought that was supposed to be a big thing with them.

Culture and morale vanished when these occurred:
Management not being forthcoming with employees.
Cut in car allowance to sales team.
Sales not getting raises in 3 years while corp. employees did.
Losing 9 million in 2011.
Failure to adopt POC, and reliance on blood.
List could go on forever.

You forgot employees being disciplined for asking questions of Doc and management during monthly update meetings despite Doc and other execs always saying "Ask us anything. This is YOUR company now."
