It is Illegal to take a bounty for laying off employees! You are full of BS!
it is called force ranking where the dm is asked if they had to rank their reps, which would they keep in a layoff aka realignment.
It has been used to target certain reps for eventual termination in the guise of alignment.
Abbvie reps were laid off and contract reps retained in territories as in the Orange and LA territories during the realignment.
 


















It's sad, but true....then the DM claims he uadnt fired anyone in years. His time will come since his work is sloppy.

Forced ranking has been around for a long time. We save a ton on salaries. Your so-called relationships are not worth much anymore and haven’t been for years. At one time they were, but no longer. Yes, we can hire a pretty face and the territory will just keep on going as if nothing happened. Reps are not worth what they once were.
 






if reps werent that important. we would have new hires with major gaps in work history making close to 160. abbvie facing a major pay gap issue with new hires and legacy reps. thats why you keep hearing people leaving.
 


















Hmmmm? Over 45 and interviewing for the new specialty CNS role. Was told salary would be 110+.

There are no more specialty roles in CNS. We're all the same now. You're calling on more primary care than specialists and if they didn't tell you that... well....that's a problem, now isn't it? Ask what % of your call panel is specialists when you get a chance. Also get ready to coached as if you have little to no experience in pharma, regardless of your background.

just make adjustments in your life, and you will be find.

Welcome to ageism. 61, pushed out...too many young, ignorant do anything, wink wink, ladder climbers. But when the mortality, complication rates go up how can you choose ignorance over experience...of course in the endovascular arena, it's ALL about sales not humanity

about medical leaves being a toxic environment vs when older you just have more medical stuff going on or need to caretake elderly parents?

In any case, managers want older reps out so they can hire their own kiss butts.
 












Yes, our region is hiring people with no sales and also no pharma experience cheap. Pushing out and pressuring out older employees is the new culture at abbvie. Mid to long term it is cheaper and saves the overall cost of removing those with pensions and such. You get new cheaper young employee, tend not to get sick and cost the company more and you can pay them cheap and they can travel more and work longer hours as they don’t tend to have family / dependents. Abbvie is becoming less family oriented as well. Notice big change in company culture over the years.
