Abbott Vascular Clonmel

Workers Rights Welcome Centre (WRWC) project manager, Rachael Ryan, said: “Our staff are committed to providing up-to-date confidential and accurate information on workplace issues to workers who visit our centres.

“Centres already operate in Dublin, Tralee, Navan and Cork where Advocates and Information Assistants provide advice and representation to workers every day. In many incidences they have saved the jobs of workers or satisfactorily addressed their grievances.”

She added: “Workers in the Sligo area who are suffering unfair treatment at work and who want to talk to someone face to face in a confidential and empathetic setting, will be able to drop in to the Centre, which will be open from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Workers can also ring the Centre on 071 - 9161841.”

The WRWC network is complemented by the Worker Rights Centre website and a dedicated helpline number of 1890 747 881. These services are provided by the trade union SIPTU, in solidarity to all workers (members and non-members) who need them.
“Many workers are employed in precarious, intolerable and inequitable situations, while others simply want to improve their pay and conditions, this makes it critically important that they organise themselves and join a union.”

Rumours of VOLUNTARY REDUNDANCIES have begun to circle around the Clonmel plant with people making assumptions of the very young new employees arriving into the Shithole & talk of a way out may just be on the Horizon for a workforce with which patience has run out or maybe the rumours have been created by management to try & quell UNION rumours as more & more people have had enough

lol. They r hiring now u clown.

Given that you have about 150 retiring in the next 5 or 6 years it makes since that they hire younger people. It's cheaper and effective for long-term strategy those holding out for a golden handshake are wasting there lives and it's sad. It won't happen not for at least 10 years and even then all they have to pay is statutory redundancy. I wouldn't waste my life working for abbott to get a poxy 20-30k at the end of it. I made a decision to leave for my own sanity. Even though the wages are not as good I'm much happier. I no longer work shift and have a job closer to home. Everyone is different but I couldn't take it anymore. I most admit tho if the increments in wages were better over the last few years or if we had a union I probably would of stayed and caused havoc.LOL. I wish the place well tho clonmel needs those jobs even though id say 50-60per cent want out everyone is replacable from top dog down to the little mutt.

EFFECTIVE NOTICE HEREBY I want to test the credibility of this site so I want 2 call a boycott of the canteen for the first 2 weeks in FEB which is the 2nd of feb untill the 13th of FEB. the reason why the food is rubbish and im sick of it you go in for breakfast the most important meal of the day is a fry up which is tasteless usually burnt or undercooked. The bowls for cereals are hot just after coming out of the dishwasher nd d porridge is like dog food. The prices charged for a sandwhich meaning 2 slices of bread with 1 slice of ham plus 1 slice of cheese plus 3 slices of tomato and butter and a cup of tea is over 3 euro day light robbery. NOW the main course for god sake the original irish dinner should consist of 2 sliced bacon with parsley sauce and cabbage and 2 or 3 scoops mash potato or 2 original potatos what do they give us fukin japanese food taken d fukin **** when did irish people eat japaneese food which taste like gone off diarrahea. then you et a can of coke 2 wash d horrible taste awat and then they charge nearly 6 euro for it like that is nearly 10 euro a day which is about 30-40 euro a week the prices are way 2 expensive imagine you can go down 2 lyons at lunch time nd get a burger chips nd a can of coke for less than fiver nd dey charge nearly 6. I can get a roll down town for 3 euro nd it would be packed with everything i want nd still get a cup of tea nd a newspaper fukin joke reduce your prices for d dog food that ye serve nd at least get d girls at the till 2 smile it would hardly **** them but some of them it probaly would. Im no chef but if you wudnt mind put a cooker in the canteen that i can use 2 cook an egg a sausage nd a bit of bacon so i can make sure be food is cooked 2 my liken nd who d **** charges 17cent for a teabag hot water nd a cup reduce that at once 2 free tea and coffee should be free for godsake id take that over your stinky xmas dinner every year. i hope the service improves but untill it does boycott the canteen from the 2nd of feb to 13th of feb. It wudnt **** people 2 bring in a sandwhich for the 2weeks. Its time 2 make a stand nd if dey dont improve boycott permanetly. Thanks I hope people realise that to live healthy we have to eat healthy which is part of abbotts vison for a happier worker and a healthy worker. So canteen change suppliers if need be change cooks if need be if ye want my money ye will improve please support me everyone we can get results.

Ye er getting me hungry lad.
