i hear Miles and his cronies in the playboy mansion are getting sick of the Paddys making a complete dogs bollox of vessel closure......483 warning letter anyone???? The director with the missing neck must be worried

this Sierra product won't last long & there is no sign of them filling the empty spaces in SDS ,be patient,I don't think we are as far away from a redundancy as some may claim ,they're moving people out of VC to accommodate Sierra so clearly the demand for VC is not what they claim ,but for now Protect yourself & join SIPTU or another Union ,you would be pleasantly surprised to know how many of th employees in ABBOTT are in Unions ,believe me there is a significant amount ,head up ,this place is affecting everyone's health,it will begin to Decline soon

Ever other abbott plant is unionised except clonhell. why not unite and join. did u know that managers get x3 the annual bonus we get!!! fat, arrogant cats getting fatter and more arrogant.

UNIONISE ABBOTT now ,the workers need not be afraid,a few employees who lost there jobs here have used SIPTU to there advantage & gone on to win there cases against Abbott in the courts ,One employee was awarded €70,000 & there has been another only recently,These are Facts but Abbott do not want the employees to know this information,Protect yourselves,JOIN a Union & you will have Protection

Most people want a union. But a union wont work in silence. The likes of Siptu take money but do not offer a structure for people to join. No rep available to speak with. The last thing people want is chaos if the union votes for strike then everyone in the union has to go on strike which means no wages. That's the biggest fear with a union. People have been working here for over 10 years and have never had to go on strike over some issue one person has. Abbott will never allow a union to exist no matter how many join up then you have to be wary of spies for the company. All reps suddenly get promoted to weaken the union. I do not see a union working to many individuals in that company and that's a good thing. The thing is if a union votes to strike and you don't agree with are you still willing to be part of a union. No wages for weeks on end. I can think of a number of issues why people would vote for strike. Better wages. Vhi. Pension.Sick pay policy. Higher targets but yet no increase in wages. The incompetent occ health department. The incompetence of supervisors to organize time off. The list is endless. You need at least 200 members to make it work that way when you go on strike at the gate you are strong enough not to allow a truck in or out of the gate you have to be strong enough not to allow money members into work. That's why people won't join your union because it will destroy people's chance to go in and get wage but I wish you luck. When you reach 150 let me know I'll join ye then.

I'd say you need at least 300, as folks will talk shit and get gung ho and pro union BUT then back out when push comes to shove. It takes an organized effort by somebody who can persuade and discuss on a laborers level the added benefits that come with unions. Abbott isn't underpaying and when there's an opening they get 100-150 applicants. Good Luck
