Abbott unethical company with employees/attn WSJ and NY Times reporters reporters

Re: Abbott unethical company with employees/attn WSJ and NY Times reporters report

You ain't seen nuthin yet. This next screw job with Abbvie is going to make your other complaints look like a walk in the park. If you are not yet retirement age, but close, say hello to the reaming of a lifetime. Want to keep riding this hamster wheel called pharma sales alittle longer? Sorry. If you are "lucky" enough to make it through the first bloodbath of layoffs and want to keep your same bennies, sorry, got to cut expenses further.
This Abbvie operation will be the complete opposite of your cake walk thus far in PPD. "Lean and mean" has already been revealed as the new mantra. Get the picture?

You have some serious negative vibes. Why such a long face?
Seriously tho, things are going to be just fine. We are a lean, biotech company. I especially like the lean part. Gives me shivers up my spine. I have already started my diet so that I will fit right in!

Re: Abbott unethical company with employees/attn WSJ and NY Times reporters report

Way to go ABT!!! It is certain that Abbott's major medical breakthroughs and humanitarian image have played an important role in making it a market leader. Abbott Laboratories has gained an impression as a dynamic company after its acquisitions in Europe and the Middle East. If it shows no signs of letting up its hold on the market in future and balances a pleasing and reassuring relationship between people and its shareholders, then there will not be any medical company in the world that can challenge its market leadership.

I'm getting ready for the next NSM in Anaheim. Hope it is as interesting and transparent as the last one! Oh, and as much fun too!!
Carlos is one hot enchilada!! I could watch him speak all day long!

If you are eligible to retire, do it before Abbvie. If not do not think you will get the big severence package once you are under the new company. It will not happen.

I'm already very lean. This AbbVie thing sounds more like starvaton then a diet though.
I am planning and preparing to be outta here before yearend.

Re: Abbott unethical company with employees/attn WSJ and NY Times reporters report

I smell a rat. This Abbvee thing just sounds very fishy to me. Anyone else getting that feeling?

Re: Abbott unethical company with employees/attn WSJ and NY Times reporters report

Thats not a rat you smell. Its rat shit. They all do that after eating their fill of warfarin and bleeding out. Hungry?

Re: Abbott unethical company with employees/attn WSJ and NY Times reporters report

Well, I was just snooping on the web and discovered the Hospira was announced in June and completed in April. 10 months. Undoubtedly Hospira is the template. If I am not mistaken, the Abbvie split was announced in Oct., so I would say it will be complete at the end of August. Sept 1 you will be working for a new company. Probably right after Labor day.

Re: Abbott unethical company with employees/attn WSJ and NY Times reporters report

Correction: those left after the "adjustment to headcount" will be working for Abbie-hit -the road. The first adjustment will probably be no more then a month after the split is done.

I am just hoping that everything is just fine and that our transparent managememt team would of told us if we had anything to be worried about.

I recall layoffs in prior years where even the RM's were not aware of any layoff coming until the evening prior to the notifications. Don't count on management to be transparent about anything. They like the element of surprise.

Great. Fuk em. This ride has been a nice easy stroll for me, because we've known the end is near. I've already gotten mines' from these people. Just waiting for them to show me the door.

am giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you are not serious, right?

I am giving you the benefit of the doubt, and won't say anything to rip your ass because I figure you are retarded and are just trying to do the best you can. Nothing wrong with that.

Re: Abbott unethical company with employees/attn WSJ and NY Times reporters report

Anybody else hear about what they just did in UK to the reps? One days notice and then a huge layoff with lost pensions,

I'm calling BS on this post until it is proven. Nothing in the press about European layoffs for Abbott and it's almost 9 pm over there. Surely it would have been reported already in the press.

Re: Abbott unethical company with employees/attn WSJ and NY Times reporters report

What is really sad is all those people up on the top, whether they really earned it or not, are set for life. What about the people at retirement age who are thinking of jumping ship with no severance in order to save their benefits? There is no guarantee for them. It's been 9 months since they announced the split. If this was an ethical company, who was going to do the right thing, they would NOW be working on those retiree packages. They need to do right by those people who have put in 20, 25 and even more years. But then I said "Ethical" company. This is NOT an ethical company. They are going to screw the people who brought home the bacon day after day.
