Hey Einstein, easy on the profanity. I would think that the only f**king going on is being down by your competitors on your stupid a$$. Now get out in the field and bend over some more!!!!

Had a phone screen on Friday. They expressed a strong interest in me b/c of my nursing background. Considering but a little concerned about all of the primary care call points and being a UPS like sample delivery women. The phone screen person described this as a specialty position, but I have my doubts about that. On a scale of 1-10, how would your rate these Abbott Meter Rep jobs?

IF you have doubts, then I suggest you go work for Lilly or merck, so much better, pushing pills in the 20 products cardio market. You can compete against 4 companies or you can compete against 15, your choice, so some more homework, go talk to a CDE, Pharmacist or an Endo and then make your choice. These positions are paid like a specialty rep, and you are sampling, but it is no different than a Pill rep, just the boxes are bigger. Also you will need more than just a nursing background, if you don't have any sales the DM will most likely not consider you.

Don`t be fooled. Endo`s are IMs and not true specialists. Nurses and pharmacists, well do I need to say more? Meter sales of today are carbon copy PCP pharma jobs. If you are looking to break into sales, your nursing background should get you in. You will be fine selling meters for a couple of years to gain some exp.

Easy Products, very difficult business to understand, it takes a pill person over a year to understand the business and some even longer. Good Luck

My f2f is Thursday with Abbott. I have already had a f2f in specialty pharma with another co. They are talking a range of 76-85K in base with a target bonus of 26K and no primary care call points. Is this money comparable to Abbott Meters?

140K - 150K is a good range for hospital sales, injectables, and or devices. Some could pay more. Make no mistake, meter jobs and PCP pharma are not in the pay range. These jobs are typically 65-85K total comp.

My interview went well today. I fully expect to get invited back to meet the RD. Was told 65-70K in base and 20K target bonus (very disappointing). Can you get more out of them? I`d feel more comfortable if they could give me 80K in base. Also, can you create your own call plan? I`d like to exclude the PCP targets.

WOW!!! You know everything already about the diabetes and the meter market. Why do you need a DM? Apparently you seem to have forgot that 80% of the people get diagnosed with their FP/GP. You just go ahead!! :)

If you are lean and green with liitle sales exp, take the ADC job. You will have PCP docs to call on but you will not have PODS. Beggers can`t be choosey. Earn your strips before you run your mouth.
