60 Minutes

well Sourcewatch destroys your world-view / defense of megacorporation wal-mart, its track records ex-financials, government welfare handouts, and preferred input into policy-making at local and federal levels.
so, i guess we're even.
now what?

If giving you facts like WalMart is the 5th. largest tax-paying company in the US is some kind of unfair defense, then count me as guilty.

$8billion paid in taxes..... How much more would it take to make it "fair"?

Parasites ultimately kill the host... just keep sucking 'til it duties up lib-boy.

Please STOP the bickering!! Progressives and Conservatives are united by being Americans!! The real evil is with big corporations that take advantage of cancer patients by pricing drugs that only the rich can afford!!

So which poor cancer patients are dying because they can't get the drug and how can a company make money, if only rich people can buy their product?

that's great. i'm really happy for you and WalMart being a proud Top 5 tax-paying megacorporate club member. WalMart and other megacorps have an obligation to the societies in which they operation to share resources. this is how cooperation and evolution of the human race works.

now, why don't you stop deflecting attention away from WalMart's treatment of its workforce, environment, political corruption, etc....

ps.

if you are expecting the Walton family to hire you for a new PR gig, then refine your game. quickly.

Hey Tard.... Is $8 billion not enough "shared" resources? How much more should they share to satisfy the leeches of society? They employ over 2 million people. How's that for sharing? What have you done for society? How many people have you employed? How much do you pay in taxes? Pathetic.

So this lobbying is bad... "Walmart spent $7.3 million on lobbying in 2013 alone. While this money was paid to influence a range of legislation, from lobbying against background checks for gun buyers to promoting corporate tax cuts, trade policy was among the issues Walmart lobbied on most aggressively."

But this lobbying is good? Environmentalists generally advocate against big industries with big money, such as oil and gas companies, power utilities and chemical companies. Environmental groups contributed more than $14.7 million during the 2012 election cycle, almost triple the more than $5.2 million they gave during the 2010 election cycle. Outside spending is responsible for a lot of the increase -- in 2012, nearly $9.5 million of the total contributions from environmental groups went to outside spending groups, whereas in 2010, that number was less than $804,000.

What a joke! Walmart does not pay a wage that employees can live on! Shame on them and all big corporations! We need to take back our country from the multinational firms!! You are so ill informed and pathetic! How much do you pay in taxes? Price controls on pharma is long overdue!

serious wealth inequality in america:

The top 0.1% (consisting of 160,000 families worth $73m on average) hold 22% of America’s wealth, just shy of the 1929 peak—and almost the same share as the bottom 90% of the population.

the solution is more even distribution of resources.

how that gets done?

there's the ben kingsley approach:

or, any better ideas?

Are you advocating pushing reset on this multi-player game?

I'm quite sure those books will not provide you with any better understanding of why America is the greatest country in recorded history, but feel free to report back after Christmas. I am sure you will have some greater context in which to evaluate your meaningless existence. Merry Christmas or should I say Happy Holidays? I wouldn't want to offend your pathetic, liberal sensibilities.

America's not the greatest. Get over it. You've been fooled.

By the way, you are the one that's offended - not me.

there are actually 9 greater countries, if going by legatum's [1] prosperity index 2014:

After I stop laughing at your examples, let me explain to you that you can't be a totally irrelevant, inconsequential country and be considered the greatest country ever.... ok? So try again.... or make me laugh again. Thanks!

you really want to play this game?

"For five years running, the U.S. has been crowned "best nation' by a poll which measures peoples' perceptions of countries around the world… until now.
This year, Germany took the top spot.."
