Zimmer Canada?

Bravo, well said!

Agreed. Folkert was going to fire him so, at least he was smart enough to jump first. (Smart and Northrup....you don't see that in the same sentence very often!) Hard to imagine why they keep Jamie Williams around with all the changes going on, he is completely useless. The "King of Barrie" continues to hang on to full time employment for another day or two.

A recruiter approached me and asked me to consider interviewing at Zimmer Canada for a marketing manager position that is open now. Not sure what to believe, none of the past posts on this company paint a pretty picture? Looking for some balanced feedback on whether or not to proceed with i-view.

All of the past posts pertaining to Z-Canada are absolutely true. Local leadership is completely useless. Here's the truth, you will be working for the Distributors. The moment you try attempt to do something that's best for the business but contrary to the distributor's interest, your career is over. Period, end of story. Take a long hard look at turnover in this organization, there is a cancer hiding in this place. Take a pass on Zimmer, not worth all the aggravation in the long run

This post is only partially correct. Senior management is the big problem at Z-Can, not the Distributors. Distributors are the "tail that wags the dog" because lousy management lets them. The best thing that ever happened to the distributors....his name is Jamie Williams! A complete fucking idiot to be sure but he allowed a lot of distributors to become very, very wealthy.

Nice try but this post is a complete joke. No one can blame the distributors for having the good sense to pick up a business that requires virtually zero up front investment, no inventory to purchase, no AP/AR responsibility and a parent company that covers a huge part of on-going expenses for travel, entertainment, surgeon consulting fees, medical education, marketing/finance support, etc. Seriously, who out there considers Northrup, McPhee, Dorman or Sadler a true business leader....they are hacks, end of story. The post was correct in one regard, Williams was the worst GM in history but the best friend of Distributors.....

The worst part...senior leadership and the distributors treat all the other employees like garbage. Senior leadership says do the work as it is presented to you, do not have a mind of your own and oh yeah, fuck off if you don't like it! The distributors appear fun and easy to work with but only if you are strictly working for their best interest. The moment you step out of line (even if you do what's best for the company)...be sure the phone will start ringing in Nate's office demanding your immediate termination. If you don't know it already, be very, very careful around Chrysanthou....sneaky, two-faced liar in the business. Don't worry about Jamie Williams, he is too stupid to know what's really going on or even care.

For job seekers out there, this is a very, very accurate post. Ask company officials (and definitely your recruiter) about turnover inside this company. Voluntary turnover is sky high, at least 10-12 people through the marketing depart alone in the past five years. Good companies do not have turnover like this, not even close. Add in the fact that competent leaders get fired (for trying to do what's right), shit leaders get a job for life (Williams, Austin, Chrysanthou) and the Distributors continue to make millions for doing next to nothing. Think there is a problem here?

I heard Jamie Williams was demoted again and he is now running the warehouse and reporting directly to Chrysanthou. Is anyone able to verify this story?

Not true, much to the chagrin of Chrysanthou....afterall, he has a PLAN to rule the world, from high on top of his mini hobby horse!!!

Due to the size of his massive ego the only way you are going to lift Chyrsanthou up on top of even a mini hobby horse is by way of a heavy duty crane! Jokes aside, watch out for this little prick.....cannot be trusted ever.

This story is absolutely false. At best, Chrysanthou and Williams should be reporting to the night manager of the local Taco Bell, Mr. Kevin Austen:

CC: Hey Mr. Austen, the customer asked for fries with his burrito

KA: Sure, but let me ponder that for the next twenty minutes or so...

CC: Jamie, what do you think we should do?

JW: I clearly have no idea but, god knows I love guacamole!!!

CC: Me too! With all my natural enthusiasm, I am sure to get the Assistant Manager - Tuesday Nights position!?

JW: Slow down C, I had that position for two weeks and darn it all, I couldn't hack the stress....Mr. Austen demoted me to Associate Assistant Manager Salsa Preparation! Heck, I sure am happy now!

So funny and sadly, a perfect characterization of their (mis)management style!!!

Jamie is the Director of Sales but not for long now that Ray Bristow is on board. Fucking sad story, we all hated Ray for so long when he was running stryker. It's so funny to see all the distributors lining up to blow Ray and to tell him how great he is. Stryker is collapsing all on its own, Ray won't convert a single joint to Z

Such a bullshit stream all about these fucking idiots that allegedly "run Zimmer Canada." Newsflash...Haven Mason RUNS Zimmer Canada. He puts up about $60M of the $120M total for the company, figure it out. The rest of the distributors are fucking bozos, can them all and zimmer doesn't lose a penny....

Who really gives up a shit about Zimmer Canada anyway? Nate runs back to US inside of a year, Bristow takes over and Jamie will be demoted once again to product manager....all the while it is a really, really shitty place to work!

most of what has been stated is true. morale is the worst I have ever seen. still working here until something better comes along.

best (dream) team the last 7 years:
GM - Jamie Williams
Director of Marketing - Christine Pisapia
Director of Sales - Dave Adamson
Director of Finance - Mike (should have been promoted)
Director of IT - Chris Shinkel (should have been promoted)
Product Manager Knees - Pamela Robertson
Product Manager Hips - Joel Holman

It is true that Jamie tried to create a family environment; however, those that were true to that worked their butt off for Jamie. those that took advantage of that and abused their privileges and leeway for their own gains, have caused the downfall of the company (you guys know who you are; as were indicated in many posts above). some still there trying to play games and smooze their way up the ladder. it will all come crashing down when people figure out you don't belong in your position and are not qualified; by then you have created a crappy name for yourself in the industry you are sol for any future moves.

this goes back a bit, but, pretty sad when company is strapped for cash; trying to cut costs and laying off good people, then new GM comes and spends 20k on new office furniture when Jamie's furniture was still in great shape; kill the christmas party and kids christmas party; nice morale booster.

I say give Bailey a shot at GM, if Nate ever decides to go back. He was GM at Wright Medical before.

Dave Adamson, Christine Pisapia and Jamie Williams on the Dream Team? That's really, really funny! Wait, do you meant the Burger King Dream Team? OK, then you are definitely correct.

sitting back and just watching these posts, I had to jump in now:
regarding the dream team post, can you say RJ was better than DA as Director of Sales; not a chance. RJ wanted to be everyone's buddy and you could tell wanted more to socialize than to do actual work (i.e. inherited direct reports taking over as Dir of Sales and was able to convince that he didn't have to anymore; good smoozing). DA was very thorough and dedicated to his job. thought the move to dental though was a bad choice.

as for JH vs. CP, JH has the tenure over CP, but his ego and working for him, makes me agree with the CP choice. JH has done good work though, giving him some credit.

as for JW vs. NF, coming from Warsaw, NF is probably more aggressive and probably fits more in line with McCaulley and their drive and may be more suitable in this environment when you are scrapping for sales. however, if you cannot motivate your staff and the environment is such where people are not happy in the office, it doesn't matter how much you drive your staff, they will eventually leave. I believe the shake up is good and think that house cleaning was necessary, but its what you accomplish after the house cleaning that will be key; give NF another 6 months to see if there is a turnaround in business and morale. so I'm sitting on the fence right now on JW vs. NF. but my days at ZC are definitely numbered; had interviews with other prominent device companies in the area and a couple of offers; leaving on my terms. feel sorry for DW and SS who came from Warsaw; should have stayed in Warsaw rather than come into this type of environment, unfortunately. good luck to them.

How exactly are you such an expert on Zimmer Canada management both past and present? Apparently you still work at Zimmer and you worked for both JH and CP? Logically that can only mean that you have never been part of the senior management team at Zimmer - no one has been promoted from marketing to senior management in years! Idiot.
