Xolair

What's goin on in Xolair Mktg? Do they really need all those peeps when promo mktg is being done by Novartis. How many peeps do you need to run ad boards and speaker bureaus? They can't even get those running. Playing angry birds to whole day to make themselves look busy.

Xolair marketing has been a joke since the product launched. People who have no clue as to what the drug is, how it works, or how to sell it. They spend all of their time trying to figure out who to blame for lack of sales. If you look back to the launch year, sales did not reach goal simply due to the confusion created by marketing and ineffective sales managers.

Great drug however!!

I am a patient on Xolair. I am having trouble with your distributor Caremark. They never call me when I am due to get another set of shots. I alwasy have to call them to ask that my drug gets sent to my MD. I have been to the doctors office for my shots and the drug not be there from Caremark when they told me it had been shipped. The RN said that this happens far too often. Does anybody ever check up on Caremark to see if they are doing their job? For what I have to pay for Xolair, I expect better service. Does Genentech have any control over what Caremark does?

No. Genentech does not control anything with Caremark. There has to be more to the story. Maybe you physician office is not paying their bill to Caremark. Have the nurse at your office contract their Xolair rep. They will figure it out. Good luck.

Change doctor

I guess you did not understand my question. Xolair is sent to the MD office by Caremark. Caremark charges me the co=pay and bills my insurance company. This is not a situation where the MD buys the drug and charges me at all. The MD gets paid a fee for administration which is really quite small. My insurance requires that I use Caremark. My question is can Genentech do anything to have Caremark provide decent service? They suck and are not getting better.

Does Genentech have any relationship with this distributor and can they require some decent level of service?

Here's and idea, why don't YOU call Caremark and bitch to them instead of us?

Genetech has nothing to do with, or has any pull on the level of service you are getting. CareMark is the PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Manager) for your insurance plan. So first call CareMark and complain to them, then call your insurance plan and complain to them.

I did but it did no good. I was asked if I was going to call Genentech and I said I was. You guys are so stupid it is amazing. I just wish someone else had a drug like Xolair so I could say screw you Genentech.

Your great drugs will have competition at some point and that is when your attitude will bite you.

So, youre mad at genentech, even though they have nothing at all to do with your problem? Okay????

You were asked by whom? Caremark? LOL I bet you were. If they really said that, they were just trying to get rid of your whiney ass.

I worked at Caremark untill about 4 months ago and am very familiar with Xolair. Genentech originally paid us to meet service metrics associated with Xolair. The payments started to decrease about 4 years ago due to the contracting folks at Genentech. Caremark still is paid for service milestones but Genentech does not check to see if they actully do these things. Some branches do not even follow the contract requirements at all.
The poster was correct in that if a patient was going to contact Genentech and complain about service, Caremark responed very fast. I doubt that Caremark even knows who at Genentech is responsible for the account now.

I think Genentech still restricts who can distribute Xolair.

Must be hitting close to home. The FRM position for all products could be outsourced for a fraction of the cost to a reimb. specialty company like Lash. FRMs are a joke.

Virtually every field based position, can and probably eventual will, be outsourced. For example, especially the especially the rep position. Companies like Inventiv, etc could easily absorb this highly overpaid position. FYI, know of a few reps in the company who have made north of 240K in a given year. Even half of that is simply a joke.

Yeah right

The FRM position when first established was very well received. These were all in the area of BioOncology and due to the buy and bill model, was justified. With all of the positive rection to the BioOnc FRM's, other franchises wanted them too. There is a reason for a Xolair FRM position to exist but the people they put there are worthless. Since the drug has been on the market for 8-9 years, there is no longer any need for Xolair FRMs. The establishment of FRMs for the Endocrine franchise was a joke from the start.

Genentech has looked at outsourcing these positions with companies like Lash. Great reduction in cost to Genentech with no loss of support from very well respeced company. The days when Art wanted everything to remain in house in SFO are way over. Get used to it
