Best Buy Co. Inc. on Wednesday laid out a plan to boost diversity and inclusion among its workers and pledged at least $44 million for scholarships and other educational offerings for minority students.

The Richfield-based retailer also promised it would fill one of every three new, non-hourly corporate positions with people of color, and one of three non-hourly field positions with women candidates. That follows a pledge made earlier this year to make minority workers a
big part of an expansion of the company's technology-hiring efforts.

A better world starts at home. Only they can control their communities (crime, fatherlessness, victimization, etc)
 




A successful organization hires based on merit, content of character and the best choice for the job. Gender, race, sexual orientation etc. should not be a factor as these characteristics are innate and have nothing to do with performance, and or capability.

I am a female, a WOC and a consistently high performer and tenured, and was targeted. Lars has the gall to sit there after destroying lives, which is a small number to them and tout how wonderful Novo is. Laughable

here is a secret. No one cares. Organizations only say this to keep the insane media mob away.
Think about it this way. Your favorite team needs to get better and compete. If they just fill the roster with everyone color/race/accent/sex preference they Will lose because they can’t compete. The talent isnt there. Inside they could feel good about themselves, but they would lose fans, games, and revenue.
This is the same way companies behave and act because they have to compete against other companies. If the goal is to compete and drive revenue it’s focus should be on talent.

we all have had a bad counterpart some time in our career, and it’s no fun. Why would you want to fill the whole company full of those bad performers or untalented individuals?
 




I live in the suburbs, have a father, and 3 Degrees...how do I overcome that interview question in front of Tom, Steve, and Jimbo?

My community doesn’t have that. However, my territory consists of rural people on welfare and on Meth. I cringe going in those offices as they dip and are just overall dirty. Very poor.

Our company wants and needs performers. No matter race or sex. promoting and giving people who don’t earn things because they are part of a “class” does nothing to make us better. Charity is for other areas of life.

Same here man. Will only get worse. Those people are lobbying Biden/Harris to have a Civil Rights Diversity Czar position in the Cabinet. Not saying Biden won election, but just imagine having to interview in front of a Hiring Panel of all POC. It will be game over for us.

I hated my time at Novo. A place full of racists. Now I am in a position where I am able to influence patients and providers not to use Novo products or switch from them. Everyday I am able to convince a patient or a provider is a great day.
