I came over to launch Ocrevus and be part of a new start up Sales Force. I was very successful with my old company. I can remember how happy I was to come to work for one of the best companies in our industry. I was part of the most successful launch in Genentech’s history.

I am now devastated. I am the bread winner for my large family. I am now very depressed, and am trying to figure out what action to best take financially care of my family. I have lost all faith in Genentech, and am confused why they are treating us like garbage. After todays call, and all the patronizing comments from Senior Leadership ( who are all keeping their jobs ) I am totally lost, and even more depressed.

I’m in lytics and the OCRE franchise has been a hot topic. All of us realize this has nothing to do with individual performance and is territory driven. We believe positions will be created and they will find jobs for everyone. So please have hope and hang in there. I truly believe that at the end of the day, a position will always be found for a good employee and it won’t require a move. Genentech knows the importance of not losing good people. I’ve seen your numbers and the OCRE team has killed it. Stay tough and don’t listen to naysayers.

It’s mind boggling to read the entitlement perspectives here. Every business seeks to operate with just the right number of employees and sometimes slightly fewer than ideal.

No employer can afford to have people on payroll that they do not need. That’s so basic. The only exception to that rule of business is government and they can only do it because their funding comes from taxes.

Suggest you trying living in the real world instead of Pharma fantasy land.
 












Nobody wants to be let go, but the Oncology reps who were severed got great packages and everyone I know that got let go is working for a decent company with as good or better compensation.

They were baited with a message about a strong future at a great company. No one would have left their former company for a 2 year contract job. Bottom line is Genentech practiced bait and switch on these folks. Now they are letting them go with a pittance of a severance since they have only been here 2 years. Personally I find it disgusting that Genentech would treat them in such a way. Only thing they can do at this point is to give them a huge severance as a result of misleading them, and using their relationships to get Ocrevus off the ground.

Totally agree. If most had known they were just going to be using us for our relationships we would have never come here. Most disgusting thing I have seen from a company.

Thankfully I was BOLDed and got the hell out. Turned down headhunters all of 17' hoping to be BOLDed. This statement is spot on and ALL of BioOnc knows round two is coming soon. IDK what the MS space is like regarding opportunity but those who survive this can expect round 2 in 2019 or 2020. Your marketing team will live through this in 2019 if not sooner. ALL BioOnc marketing teams in SSF going through 'optimization' now.
