Why are reps posting their silly national awards on LinkedIn?

These people are emotionally fragile and need constant affirmation to reinforce their underlying lack of self esteem. Social media in general tends to do that to people. The above poster is correct- the most successful people don't do that stuff because they simply do not see the need. And it's not just young kids. People in their 50's do it too.

Totally agree. Getting tired of all the "Look at Me!!!" people in pharma sales.

Please consider recycling!! We don't want you destroying our environment!!!
I threw mine in the dumpster at my storage unit. The same place where I throw my cardboard in the garbage one and not the recycling. I took the long way there and home to do it too. 4 billion people on earth don't have indoor plumbing. Get over yourself

We've always rewarded that behavior. Rmember, many at "managers" level and above got here when we had mega block busters like Viagra and Lipitor that sold themselves. I wasnt here but I have heard that those drugs had 4 reps in each office and hospital, all selling either those 2 or Celebrex (the only COX 2 after Vioxx got pulled) or antibiotics. LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME and sucking up to the boss was an extremely effective way to get promoted when I started. The only thing more disgusting was the quality of people at the regional or VP level.

I have an MBA AND I just won a sales award. Which one do you want to hear about first?

Ooooooh, I’m impressed. Who doesn’t have an MBA? Who hasn’t won a sales award?
You’re a clown. Nether means shit in the real world. A sales award in Pharma means absolutely nothing because it’s not “sales”.

They have to try to bring attention to themselves because no one else gives a rat’s ass about them. Fakes and phonies who follow PFE’s motto: “ Take credit for everything and blame for nothing.” just like Pfizer has lived on other companies’ products their entire existence.

I found out that the awards had basically nothing to do with sales performance. The question was raised when some performing in the bottom half were allowed to make premier. It’s all pretty much subjective and those whom they want to win will win. Especially in Oncology. You are better served doing special projects and staying in the good graces of management than out educating your docs on your products. But that really flies in the face of doing what’s best for the patient, which is sad and, in my opinion, unethical. I like Pfizer Oncology but am very disappointed in the direction that it has gone. It’s too bad because I really do want to help people but also make a decent living. I think this isn’t a good look, but that’s just my opinion.

Most unethical company by a long shot
