AH Yes Old Praha:

He is real. He does what no other rep can do - he sells for real.

Long did nothing to help his fellow reps. Name one thing he accomplished that was not for his greater glory. Measure him not by his articulation but rather what he did to help the salesforce while he was kissing ass

His job was to sell. Not to enhance the sales force. But actually he did help the sales force by providing a great example and setting a bar for top people to try to beat. He also was very gracious and not boastful despite all the accolades. However there is a small minority who still can't get over his success and due to their own lack of esteem have to try to belittle and ridicule him. The same is true of Eric Ruwe who was another great sales leader.

No if you are up sales management's ass you have a responsibility to all the reps who are counting on you to make a difference in the job we do and get changes implemented which betters the workplace for everyone. He failed miserably in that regard. Did nothing to benefit anyone but himself even though he had the ear of management. And at the end did not even perform at the highest level in sales. Now go jump up his ass

Once again you expose your bitterness at being a mediocre sales rep all these years by belittling someone who achieved greatness in their field.
