I saw Walter Maupay at a Calgon Vestal reunion in October. He doesn't look a day older! Still the same great man! It was very nice to see him!

I remember the first time I ran across him. Blue jacket, no socks and rubber bands. Carter was president and I was telling a buddy a Carter joke. "What does Jack Kennedy have that Jimmy Carter wishes he had?... A dead brother. Walter came over to me and said " I cried the day Bobby Kennedy was shot." I'm sorry but that was funny, I don't care who you are. Saw him at a few more national meetings then he just disappeared. I was told in married into old Merck money and was golden. How did he end up at Calgon?

I miss getting up and going to breakfast at 6:30 a.m. and finding the same bunch of older tenured reps down there as well! Same 8-10 at the table and sometimes Keller would join us and a few others as well! Great open discussions of the meetings and learned a lot from those cats without all the bullshit. They were the class of Merck and those sessions made meetings enjoyable and worthwhile...above mentioned Bill Winesbury, Tom Stacy and others! Never saw a chick at breakfast until 7:15 or so and some rushed in at the last minute to get coffee and a Danish if there were any! Do they still have real 'breakfast' at meetings?
