Who’s quitting on March 4 to go to Sanofi/Regeneron

Yeah because Salix has never had mirrored sales forces right? I mean we’ve never had more than one rep calling on the same GI with Xifaxan. Or Trulance. And the difference between the extra money you make in espp and what I will make with my raise is that I don’t have to put my own money up to get the match and then wait to vest before I get my money.

We have never had 2 GI companies with mirrored reps in our accounts. Its much easier to completely cut one of the companies (and their reps) when they are 2 complete entities…! Salix did it in Primary Care - but it was with a contract company - that’s what they are for - and look at what happened to most of them…

And she is the last time that Salix laid off anyone on any of the GI teams ? It’s because we have over a 1B$ drug- we are actually undersized for a drug that large. I don’t give crap if I had to contribute (save) money myself to get the espp match - it’s still “free” $$$ and I’ll take that vs going through training and all of the uncertainties that you are going to be dealing with -good luck to you, maybe this will be the one that sticks?

Let's assume you make $100,000 base. You save 20% (the max) or $20,000 in ESPP. The company matches that by 75% or $15,000 which you can collect in a year. That's still only about 25% of the pay increase they are offering at Regeneron and Sanofi for this buildout. So in four years, you can pick up as much as I will get this year. And I don't have to wait for it. I think it's worth the risk.

By the way, Salix "stuck" for me. I was on board a few years before the Valeant buyout so I was one of the lucky people to get a massive payout. I stayed on because the money here has been good. I just see this move as a better opportunity for me.

Well you numbers are off a bit- My salary is quite a bit higher than what you referenced, and you forgot to add another 50K+ in annual bonus that you can also contribute 20% to the ESPP. That adds another 7500 /year of matched money, it all adds up… And you are exaggerating quite a bit about your “massive payout”, if you were here a few years before the Valeant buyout it was far from a “massive” payout, I was hear as well. Good luck to you - I’m gonna ride it out here - at least I know what I’m getting - the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Point taken. Sometimes the devil you know is better.

I know what they are paying, and you must have not been making shit.

I resigned because I got more than a $50,000 raise and stock. Yes I will miss out on my Q4 Salix payout but that is the cost of doing business. And yes, Todd called me to ask why I was leaving and implied I had a non-compete which I don’t think any of us have. Don’t care if you believe me.

Most people that got promoted from primary care are making under 100k, most young new hires are making under 100k, and there are IAMs making right at 100k. Salix sales reps are way under paid.
