Which Reps are Leaving the OBU?

It sucks here. Dry eye is a declining market, our managed care blows and our goals are ridiculous.

Seriously there is much potential. We just have a bunch of loosers that thought they knew how to launch this drug. I hope that another company will see the potential and make things right. Though it maybe too late.

I am interested as to why you think the Midwest manager out of Chicago is CRAZY?
I didn't say she was crazy. I just answered the question that no she's not a micro manager. It's the other guy who thinks she's crazy. I also think they are speaking about someone else bc the manager in Chicago is new and couldn't have had a lot of reps leave their team....

Not sure who the KAM in MN is, but that Kala mgr is out of CHI and she is nuts! CRAZY!

* Sorry for the confusion. This is the post earlier in the thread I was asking about. It’s not a Shire Manager they were referring to. They said the Kala manager out of Chicago is CRAZY and I was trying to figure out why so many people have left her teams in recent years?

Kala, Dompe, EyePoint, and Ocular Therapeutics are all hiring between December - February. Kala seems like Sun 2.0 and not interested. The others seem more interesting to me. Shire OBU fate will be sealed by February but then all of these jobs will be filled. Why stick around for potential severance when these jobs will bump your pay anyway? Fools!

I heard what Kala is paying. NovaBay has an interesting pay structure to get experienced reps on board. What about Eyepoint and Novartis?

The Shire manager in Chicago is also Crazy

I am leaving and not worried at all about the non-compete. Less than 10% hit goal and nobody making money. I have to make money to support my family. I will not be held hostage or be a slave to this company. IF they sent something, it is simply a scare tactic. If they decide to pursue something, they better have a big legal department as 50+ will be leaving by the end of the year....and I’ll be one of them! Adios!
I gave notice Monday and my manager told me I was in violation of the non compete had HR call me. I just hired an attorney.

What company are you going to? When is the start date?

If you gave a 2 week notice this Monday 26th and going to Kala starting Monday 3rd they will go after you. That’s a week of getting paid full time at Shire when you are getting paid full time at Kala. An attorney can’t help you with that.

none of your business where anyone is going, who do you think you are?. If they gave notice before they start that's all that matters. If they told the manager when they were starting regardless if it is a full two weeks or not that's all that matters. It is the responsibility of the two and Shire to close them out accordingly.

The poster Never said where they went or that they started already, you're just assuming. Just as you are assuming they went to Kala and have already started. Even if they did go to Kala, there's about 20 people who also did. Is the company going after everyone? There are a handful of people actually starting next week. So YES AN ATTORNEY CAN HELP WITH THAT!

If the company isn't doing this to everyone who is leaving to go to another eye care company (those who have left to go to Aerie, Dompé, Sun, or Kala) it is discrimination, and retaliation!!! (Let's be honest there are plenty who have) Which is ILLEGAL and there is legal recourse that hiring an attorney woul be able to help with. So whomever this manager is better have their ducks in a row.

I said "IF". My RD and ZD both told me that anyone going to Kala who tries to get salary from both companies would be pursued as breech of contract.

And my brother is an attorney specializing in EEOC and employment cases. I asked him because I am changing jobs to another eye company. They can come after you. Depending on the State you live in, the non compete is binding. However, my RD and ZD said those who left for Kala, gave a two week notice by November 19th would have no issues. Those who put in 2 week's notice after that would not be paid by shire beyond the Kala start date of 12/3.

You can attack me all you want, but that's what I've been told. My brother did say most likely Shire would back off but will not be required to pay you for any time you are also paid by another company. That would apply no matter what State you work in. If they sue and you don't back down you will also pay Shires attorney fees and court costs.
