Where are all of the reps going?

Done with this company. Sick of not getting bonuses every quarter. If a territory has had low sales for the last two years you would expect the goals to be adjusted, right? Wrong! Same ratio of dollarized growth without the market potential year after year. Top marketed products change on the regular and are we really supposed to sell 4 products each call? We have 10 reps over 100% to goal at quarters end. Hmmm. I wonder what that means. Managed care disasters throughout the US and is there any surprise why certain territories do well time and time again.
Ultresa - crap. Zenpep - crap. Rectiv - Super Crap. Pylera. The only decent product we have. Canasa - wait until a competitor arrives.
Lets hire more reps, take away CF centers and barely take into consideration what this lost revenue has on territories having their sales chopped and given away. This company always figures shit out when it is too late. Lets distribute Thousands of marketing pieces time and time again before they are thoroughly reviewed just to have them pulled. Lets lose Managed Care coverage on important plans and not take into consideration huge losses in sales due to these mishaps. Lets keep hiring reps to call on IM and PC because they are so important. What happened to that 80% comes from top 20% rule? These frivolous decisions are not only taking away from the company, but from us reps who continue to hit the pavement day in and day out. It's not sales anymore but damage control. After this, I'm going into politics.

Sincerely,

Frustrated, upset, and willing to change.

Yep I know....rectiv sucks, I spend too much time talking about this to get 8 scripts a week, esp since my docs are writing twice as many and we lose them at the pharmacy b/c those stupid coupons. Zenpep is a joke, 2nd man in, if we're lucky. Pylera, the best one here, that docs can't write and its the least of the 4 weighted. Yuck, I'm looking.

What I did this Memorial Day weekend.

-Updated my résumé.
-Contacted several recruiters.
-Transferred all top secret emails and training materials to my personal flash drive.
-Cleaned out my storage unit (basically threw everything out). I'm sure it's full of mistakes or will be recalled in the next month or so.
-Drove my company car over 1000k personal miles.
-and didn't pre-call plan for the next week of work.
- all of next weeks call will be off-label topics, just like we are taught by our ZDs.
Only noon, so lets see what else I can get in to.

What is up with all of the reps leaving the mighty Aptalis? Could it be the expired pipeline of products, the launch or relaunch of products that are beyond their time, the management and marketing teams that constantly drop the ball, or, is it simply the pay that us sales reps receive?
I'd say that it is all of the above. When is the last time you received a pay raise? Granted, there are some pharma companies that are laying employees off, but we are doing the exact opposite. And no, the recalculation of our Rectiv bonuses does not count. Unrealistic reach of sales goals if I have ever seen one. Selling a product that was once popular 30 years ago and has since been replaced with a better form of therapy is probably not the best product to purchase and launch to physicians that stopped writing this product because of bad side effects many moons ago.
I'm not a genius by any means, but I would say that the pay and future of our company are to blame for reps leaving. There are many companies out there picking out reps from our line up, one by one. Aptalis, once a small and prosperous company, is being overrun by big pharma mentality. "Novartis, ooops, I mean Aptalis. Silly Me." Competitive pay and an opportunity to move through the company leveling would be great.
Do I need to even get into the overpaid product of Zenpep and I cant wait to see how Ultresa and Viokace fit into this marketing strategy. Kiss your Zenpep bonuses goodbye because this is all a special plan to make the goals even that much more impossible to achieve. Ultresa vs. Zenpep vs. Creon vs. Viokace. I can't wait to sell competing products to physicians and then be expected to grow my PE business by 80%. Well, we do have 3 of the 5 PE's on the market.

Thanks

You want to know what a lot of people will experience on the 4th of July after eating tons of hot dogs, ribs, steaks, and drinking lots of alcohol?

Gas, bloating, and nutritional deficiency. Some may even develop chronic pancreatitis after many years of drinking and smoking.

What is HR doing to make the place better to work at?

I get that s*** all of the time. Now they want us to sell Ultresa because they raised a drug from the dead. How about a time frame on when we are going public so I can get my $ and get out.

Yah -- I loved the line they fed us when Ultresa came out "these docs have been waiting for Ultresa to come back -- go call on this list of 6 targets" -- most of them had written 1 or 2 scripts in 2 years, that was the huge potential!!! What a joke!!! Then we get 2 cases of samples and a bunch of promotional material!! Hilarious.

Many salespeoples that work here either have been laid off or haven't worked anywhere else....riding the gravy train @ Craptalis. We don't realize how backward this place is from product, mgd care, training, data (or no data), managers...you name it. Zenpep is a tugboat compared to the Queen Mary Creon, rectiv is a laugh if you can get it, pylera is awesome but too expensive. Just a bunch of bandaids on the business.

Holy smokes. Didnt really think the East Zone Director would be as bad as the rumors. But this kid is a complete asshole. Wish we would have gotten a director with more experience actually directing people. Unfortunately, we are his guinea pigs he is using to learn to be a director. He needs to stop reading dog training books and get some direction in dealing with humans.
