What's it really like to work here?

Depends on how bad you need the job....

2 Me-too products (competes with many generics) that aren't doing very well, a company car ($110 per month out of your paycheck), no company credit card but a very solid budget so you are expected to do frequent lunches, bonus on the very low side for most but territories do very well, call metrics are pretty standard for the industry.

I enjoyed my (brief) time at Kowa because of the people, definitely not because of the money.

Some people can make a career at Kowa, but most use it as a stop gap or stepping stone to something better.

Very accurate post. Most of the people are great, but the pay is definitely on the low side.

Personally, I don't know how the company stays afloat. Neither of the two drugs bring in much revenue.

I couldn't agree more!!

In addition to the amazing 1st in class products, robust pipeline, OVERLY GENEROUS compensation, pension, stock and profit sharing....I'd like to add the lowest turnover in the industry!

This past year was record setting: less than 50% turnover of the sales force for the first time ever! Granted it was 49.8% turnover, but a record is a record! When people start with Kowa, they stay forever; or 6-9 months, whichever comes first.

If you have an opportunity to work for this incredible company: Do it!

I would suggest 1st class me too products to the opening line!

Really depends on your manager and you. I have a great manager. As far as compensation goes, it could be better and it could be worse. Those stating that they started with a base in the 70s or 80s are full of it. The highest I have heard of anyone starting it was in the mid 60s.

Bonus wise, I think I averaged over $2000 per month last year. Between bonuses, Kowa Cash, & the Career Path stipend, I made it over $100K last year. I don't expect that to happen this year.

However, as usual, management messed with the compensation plan. Many zero payouts of the month of January that I've heard of. Mine was one of the worst of had since I've been here. One of the worst I've had in all my years in sales.

Overall, a great place to work in my opinion. But, as I stated, it's up to you and also your manager is.

You are wrong. I started 8 months ago @$82500. I know of a team mate who started higher.
